I love these boots! Packed very thoughtfully and very minimal breaking in. I originally sized up a half size based on the reviews (9 but I'm always a 8.5) and they fit fine but was worried about my ankle getting raw from sliding since they were a tad big(long)so I returned and ordered a 8.5 which is the same size as every pair of shoes/boots I have and it was perfect! They will appear and feel small/tight right at first but walk around the house for a half hour and you will feel how they've conformed to your feet and fit perfect. So totally true to size. I'd say if you ever are in between sizes, then go up a half size or if you have wider feet. I'm not narrow by any means but I've also never needed to buy in wide so 8.5 was still perfect for me. I recently bought these boots in matte black leather in a size 9. I usually wear a size 8-8 1/2 size shoe and always size up in a boot. They fit very well. They are stylish and very comfortable. I was trying to get them on with a cotton sock but the inside material made that difficult. When I changed to a knit polyester sock, which is a more slippery knit, they slide right on. They are also very warm with just a winter weight sock. I've worn them with slim ankle jeans, wide legs pants and skinny leggings. They work well with all. ... show more

These seem well made. I love they are “small batch” produced—in Mexico, not China. BUT for the money, I expected better. The suede was medium quality, not exceptional . And whatever solvents they used on the leather off-gassed so badly my room smelled for days. I usually am not bothered by smells, but it was just pretty bad. My main complaint though is while they were the “right” size, but slipped in the heel. I am a standard size 8. These shoes were sized like 8 1/4! Just enough slippage I could not size down for a better fit—or use socks to solve the problem. They do look very nice. I like they use artisan leatherers in Mexico. After reading some of the reviews, I was on the fence about whether to order a half size up. But I ordered my regular size, and when they arrived, they fit like a glove over medium thick winter socks. I can't believe how comfortable they are right out of the box! The toe box looks narrow, but is plenty wide for a comfortable fit. UPDATE: After nearly a month of wearing these boots, they are still difficult to get on over my feet. I just assumed that the elastic inserts at the ankles would stretch out over time to make them easier to get on. Nope, haven't stretched a bit! They are cute on my feet, but they're just a bear to put on! I would not recommend wearing these boots through security at the airport!!! ... show more

I really wanted to love these boots the tread is unlike any other boot that is supposed to be of great quality and I figured out be great for icy winters. The suede seems genuine and seems of good quality, however the craftsmanship has been subpar for this price point. I understand with handmade items where will be some inconsistencies but these are wildly different even in the same size. I have attached some pictures to illustrate my point. The first picture shows the difference in the outsoles of these two boots from different "batches". The second picture shows that these are the same size (8.5). However, the third photo shows that the soles are different sizes! These boots from different batches are soo different. I wanted to love these boots so much but there are so many inconsistencies and thats why I ended up ordering three different pairs. All are getting returned because the first (8.5) were different sizes in the ankle opening. So I figured maybe an 8 would fit better and it was just me being picky. The 8 we're great but just too small. So I ordered another 8.5 and these arrived definitely used! There was dog hair inside the boots, and scuffs all over them. Sad that this company didn't work out for me but I can say I gave it enough tries. Receiving a very visibly used product just shows the lack of care. The look of these is great. Very good quality and super comfortable. Fit for me in an 8 is good. I usually wear a 7.5 so make sure you size up! I haven’t worn them yet but upon arrival al they look and feel great.

    • Destroyed my feet

Was really looming forward to these, I have regular to narrow feet and have always worn a size 10 (anything bigger is usually way too big) and with the promise that they'd stretch I thought these would be perfect. I spent a couple days wearing them in before bringing them on a trip to Japan. Within half a day of walking my pinky toes were bleeding, I had blisters everywhere, and my feet were absolutely screaming in pain. I don't know if buying a size up would have even helped, but if you do buy these I would highly suggest you do so. I am immensely disappointed.
