This is my first pair of Thursday boots and I’m pleased so far. The price is good for a real leather boot. They have a strong leather smell and are comfortable immediately, not like a sneaker, but with no pinching and adequate support and cushion. The Java color was a little different looking in person than I expected; I expected more of a dressy shine based on the photos. However, I tried them on with a couple of dresses and they looked great: perfect for autumn. Also, I took advice from the reviews and sized up a half size. That was absolutely the right call. I am a size 38 (7.5-8.0) on the wider side, and I ordered an 8.5. They fit perfectly.

I’ve seen this company pop up several times in my online search for quality leather shoes. If you have only worn pleather or “vegan leather” boots, you have no idea what you’re missing out on. I’ve been wearing these boots regularly ever since I bought them a couple months ago (including days where the temperature is between 80 and 90 degrees F), (including 10+ hour long days at local comic cons). And honestly that is all because of the leather quality. You cannot go wrong with 100% real leather, and this stuff is the real deal. They are so comfortable in every sense of the word, I don’t even need insoles. I will say, they did take a couple weeks to break in, but now that they have, they fit me like a glove. So full story, I bought these originally through Amazon, a half size smaller than my normal shoe size because they were available $70 cheaper used. Unsurprisingly they were too small, so I returned them and bought the next size up directly from their website. But I’m leaving this review because other people have raised concerns about the quality being different. It’s not. End of story. The quality is literally identical. And that quality is superb. The reason I gave the 8.5 a try is because I have wide feet. My shoe size can be anywhere between a women’s US 8 and 9.5, with 9 being the common winner. But that leads me to my next point which is the toe box. I’ve seen other reviews complain about the toe box being too narrow and tight. But for ME, with my wide feet, having to constantly go UP a size and look like I’m wearing clown shoes sometimes, this was AWESOME. So even though they’re not labeled as wide, they almost feel like they are meant for people with slightly wider feet! And again with the leather, the leather will naturally conform to your foot over time, so these were able to stretch a little, making my feet very happy. I held off leaving this review for as long as I could because I really tried to critique them as hard as I could (I have high expectations for my clothes because I am a seamstress). I have nothing negative to say. Other than the breaking in period sucked… the style, durability, everything is great. No trouble with the zipper. Like I said, I’m wearing these during a bloody heat wave and I’m not sweltering with these on. If you’re looking for new shoes, highly highly highly recommend Thursday Boot Company.

I am normally a huge fan of Thursday boots, and have a pair I love. I purchased these, spending more than I anticipated, strictly because I knew the brand and trusted the product. The good? They are thick leather and the design is nice with a slick black color. The bad? They are TIGHT, not at ALL the size indicated, with a very thick back shelf. In just a few hours of wear, I was limping and desperate to get them off. Afterwards, I experienced over a week of severe pain leaving me unable to wear any shoe with backing, suspected damage to my achilles tendon. I have been unable to continue my normal workout routine and may have to spend a season away from my volunteer dance troop, which may mean missing an upcoming performance for a nursing home. I'm truly shocked that such an expensive pair of shoes, purchased in my size, could do so much damage in such a short period of time, and frankly will never buy shoes online again.

I’ve always wanted a pair of combat boots but was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to pair it with many outfits. However, I was surprised at how versatile this boots are. They are simple but make a statement at the same time! When you open the box, you can immediately see and feel the quality of these boots. Also I have worn them consistently since I got them and they were immediately comfortable. It made me happy to realize that these boots do not need to be broken in and are not tight on the top. I find these to be really comfortable making me reach for them a lot. If you’re looking for a quality pair of boots that are stylish and made to last, I would recommend these as they are a great value!

These are very nice looking boots, well made. But they are not for wide feet at all. I sized up twice and decided to trust they would break in based on reviews. They are still quite painful on the sides of my toes. I’m past the return window and while they feel good around my ankles, the toe area is not getting better. I do not suggest these for wide feet.

These are the first solid combat boots I’ve ever owned where I can feel the thickness in the leather yet a soft foot hole to insert my feet into. I had just received them, so I cannot attest to its durability. But the price of this compared to other combat boots I’ve seen in the market is a lot more accessible.

I bought them for Christmas for my daughter to replace her Dr. Martens. She hasn’t been wearing them because they hurt her feet. She said they just are not broken in. I put shoe stretchers in them but it still hasn’t worked to make them comfortable. They are pretty stiff. Her Martens looked rough a little over a year in so I was really hoping these would work. My husband recommended Thursday boots to me. They are made better and can be a little less pricy than some other brands that are also not as well made these days. I have always wanted a pair of combat boots but have always balked at the idea of spending that much on a pair of shoes. As I've gotten older I have started appreciating well made shoes and now understand you really get what you pay for (especially if you do your research). So I gritted my teeth and bought myself a pair for Christmas. I came home quick from work so I could put try on and they did NOT disappoint! They were comfortable right out of the box. No rubbing and not tight at all. I normally wear a 9.5-10 and ordered these in a 10. They are perfect. I expect to get many years out of these boots as I am not hard on my shoes. I also noticed these are very warm. I wore them around the house for a couple of hours to see how they'd feel and my feet were very toasty. These are also lighter than I expected. I had tried on other boots before and they were both heavy and stiff. I will be purchasing more shoes from this company as I replace my old cheaper shoes with quality products.
