  • Big and very heavy, but feels 100% perfect.
Pros: Easy to put the handle together Easy (relatively) to change between Sequential and E-brake (have to use a tool but not to take anything apart, just loosen to slide pegs into the other position and re-tighten, quick and painless) It's not just a 'button'. It's a full on recognized axis that allows you the same control as a gas pedal - where you can slowly pull it more to engage more brake, up until the 'click' when it reaches the end, locking the brakes and initiating drift. This also means you can 'save' harshly oversteered turns that otherwise would result in a crash - by engaging small amounts of brake it very quickly slows the throw of the rear of the car. This is more in reference to rallycross and loose terrain but is still applicable elsewhere if the car has a handbrake. Solid as heck, feels great to pull on, medium where you actually have to pull but it doesn't fight you either, just enough resistance to allow you easily control mid-drift. Feels like you'd have to do something really dumb to break it, me and friends worried about whether you'd be able to just rip it and whatnot and you can - however you find that finessing and controlling (almost feathering) it works better than just locking up the brakes in a swift pull. Cons: Price, but it 'feels' like the money was well spent. Doesn't do much in GT racing for me, but in road cars and rallycross it's changed everything. I got the open box one for about $60 cheaper and it was absolutely fine. Consider this route. Other thoughts: It's not quite as large as my picture depicts, but not 'too far' off either. I took the pic from an angle that highlighted the e-brake and I've since changed the wheel to a standard 33cm rim and it puts everything into perspective. The rim in this photo was a small base rim so it doesn't help the appearance in comparing size. It is about double the size of the TH8A shifter though. If you race cars with handbrakes, this is worth every penny once you get it going. It almost feels like an advantage bordering on cheating, no joke. I used to use my left-side paddle shifter as e-brake since I used the TH8A shifter, and this is a world of difference being an axis over simple button. TL;DR if you can manage to somehow afford it and you race cars that actually have handbrakes (not formula and GT) you'll love this monster. Most solid piece of my sim rig. ... show more

  • Great Product. Worth every cent
This is a great product. Manufactured well and heavy duty. I like it so much im ordering another one now. Im running a t300gt by thrustmaster and it shifts great. I had an aftermarket hand brake I was using but I switched the Tssh to handbrake mode and it had ne drifting like a champ. I wont even install the old e-brake again. So now im getting another one for my shifting. Its heavy unit. Its expensive. But its worth every penny. The other handbrake and shifters don't even come close to this THHS by Thrustmasters. Thanks. ... show more

  • The capstone in my VR Racing Rig
I have wanted this bad boy for a very long time, but just couldn't justify the cost. I finally talked myself into buying this expensive monster, but of course you need also consider the added expense of a mounting bracket (over $100 just for that), as this unit has no mechanism of mounting other than bolt screws for a full simulation rig. I do not have a full simulation rig... but I do have a very good VR racing setup that mounts to my desk which already included the steering wheel, peddles, and shifter, so naturally I really wanted to pick this handbrake up to complete the setup. Now that I have forked out the money, which I must again state was far more than it should be, I can say that the handbrake itself is a very solid, heavy unit of high quality construction. It was obviously made to be jerked around pretty roughly while drifting around those turns, and I feel no worries at all I will break or damage it during use. I do not use the sequential shifter functionality as I already have a full 8 gear H shifter, but I could see that perhaps some situations might exist for other users who don't where this feature might be nice. Still, there are far cheaper options if you are looking only for a sequential shifter, while the other handbrake options I looked at seemed flimsy and poorly designed in comparison to this one. The bottom line is this... I can only recommend this product if you can a) afford the outrageous price tag, b) have a racing setup already that you are adding this handbreak to, and c) if you are rather serious about racing and VR. ... show more

  • Selling refurbished items as new?
As stated by another below, my box was double taped and the bag that held the fasteners was already opened. Everything else seemed nicely tucked away so I'm not sure what to make of it.
