  • PITA, Requires stand for clutch. Advisable for any config
Style: Xbox
EDIT- Returned. Just too much of a pain, and little payoff. Games don't integrate it well. For example, if you want to rewind in Forza you have to use the keyboard. You can't map "enter" to one of the buttons so, rewind, reach for keyboard, go. All other games just take a lot of time to get set up and they're not super interesting. You have to be a superfan of particular race series and find the game that supports it. It didn't feel at all like driving. Its just a fancy controller that looks like steering, doesn't resemble it much. not enough for me. Just not real enough I guess. I have more fun driving any stick shift in traffic than I did in these games. The space it takes is colossal. You really need the full cockpit to make it work. ANd if you did that you wouldn't need a mid/low grade wheel like this one. I could see it being moderately fun with vr or 3 screen setup in a cockpit rig. But it just doesn't work on a stand in an office chair. ... show more

  • 10/10 on the inside 6/10 on the outside.
Style: Xbox
The wheel works perfectly, although I would suggest waiting for it to go on sale for 300 bucks before buying. On the other hand the plastic wheel feels very meh and I would have loved to see this with a leather wheel for an extra hundred bucks. If you care about Sim racing and not so much how the wheel feels buy this. If you care about how the wheel feels and are gonna play less Sim focused racing games then get a logitech. Also a compatible shifter costs 180+ so yeah. ... show more

  • best entry level wheel
Style: Xbox
Put simply this wheel is amazing no matter which angle you're looking from. Despite many games not supporting the digital display and additional buttons on xbox yet, and the encoders being a little funky on pc, ive found this wheel to be an upgrade from the logitech g29/g920. regardless, if you're on pc or xbox you will not regret this purchase, but especially pc ;-). ... show more

  • Decent budget wheel, great pedals
Style: PlayStation
I grabbed this wheel after my second g29 broke. The motor is much quieter than the g29, which is great because the shifters on the T248 are so loud you can hear each shift across the house. The force feedback is on par with other wheels in this price range so nothing to write home about. The display is largely a gimmick but the real star of the show is the pedals. They are much better than the g29 pedals you get and offer brake pedal adjustability out of the box with a stiffer spring and stopped. The pedals alone should steer you to the T248 over something like the g29. I have my pedals and wheel mounted to a rig so I can’t attest to how it reacts on a desk set up with pedals on the floor. ... show more

  • Decent racing wheel with some flaws
Style: PlayStation
I am not a huge racing game player, but I will from time to time get in the mood for some racing. The biggest challenge for me has always been racing with the controller. I have always wanted to get a good wheel and found that this had some decent reviews. It works well with Gran Turismo 7. I do, however, have a few complaints with this set. Below are my pros and cons for the Thrustmaster T248: Pros: - I really love the pedals. They work great and, in my opinion, look great. - I like the feel of the wheel. The wrapped wheel makes if feel closer to the wheel in my personal vehicle. - There are plenty of buttons to program. I've had the chance to mess around with this and really love having so many to set up the way I like it. - Being my first wheel, I really like the force feedback. You can make some adjustments to how strong it is, though in GT7, I usually use this method. But I can say this, with it adjusted up pretty high, you can feel just about everything in the game. Example: When the car begins to get a little loose on the turns, I can start to feel it as it is happening. Cons: - I do not like that you have to unplug everything and hook to a PC to update. It would be nice to be able to run updates on the hardware through your PS5. - Setup was not as easy as I expected. It took an update and some messing with the setting through the wheel before it would work with GT7. - Not all games are compatible with this wheel. While this really isn't really Thrustmaster's fault, it is disappointing that other games, such as Need For Speed Hot Pursuit or Hot Wheels Unleashed are not supported. Be sure to check your games for compatibility with racing wheels before purchasing. - The brake pedal is super stiff, even with the softest spring. If you are using this on anything but a stand, be ready to have it start slipping away from you after a while. This was the worst part about the pedals. You pretty much want a mount for this, or you will constantly be trying to hold it in place with something. - I'm not a fan of the built in menus. I started to get really frustrated trying to figure out how to make adjustments - Paddle shifters are way too noisy. Be ready to wake up the house when using them. I plan to get a shifter to avoid dealing with them. It is too bad too. I had a car that had them and loved being able to shift on the wheel. The noise from the paddles are just unbearable in my opinion. My overall opinion is this: if you want a decent setup and do not mind dropping around $400, then this might be for you. Would I purchase these again? Maybe, but I am not quite as happy with them as I had really hoped I would be. These have worked for the intended purpose and has made the one racing game I love much easier and immersive, but for the price, I think that it was a bit high for some of the flaws that are in this setup ... show more

  • Great system
Style: PlayStation
4 stars instead of 5 because the wheel can not be swapped. Still a good wheel and pedal combo.

  • Hmm
Style: PlayStation
First time buying this kind of product, smaller and plasticky than I expected. So nothing much to compare with. It works so as described so I’m fine with it. Guess the more realistic sim steering wheel could be a lot more expensive since this one already cost a bit.
