I've tried cheaper microfiber sheets. I hate waste and trashing things, so when I get a set of sheets, I use the heck out of them until they're beyond worn. This means I've had ages to get sick of the flimsy, cheap feel of the last set of inexpensive, synthetic microfiber sheets I bought. I’ve purchased these sheet sets in several colors in the last two years. They are so soft and comfortable, that I’ve also purchased them for my guest room and for my kids’ homes as gifts. The quality is superb, even after dozens of washings. They wrinkle less than other brands I’ve tried, and look good enough right out of the dryer to make up the bed without ironing (I’m a little more picky with my guest room so I iron the pillowcases and top sheet.) I'm fussy when it comes to sheets. I live in Florida and I think you should have different sheets for summer and winter. With that said, I truly feel you can use these sheets year round. I washed them before I used them the first time and I thought they felt OK. After the third washing I thought they were amazing and they just keep getting better. These Threadmill sheets are 100% cotton and have an 800 thread count. I got them on sale but I do not feel $100 for king size sheets is out of line. If you look at the amount of fabric involved in making king size sheets , they are well worth the cost. Sure you could get cheaper sheets, but they would feel cheaper and they probably would have polyester or microfiber (UGH) blended in. I wash the top sheet, the fitted sheet and both pillow cases together. I have a pretty good size washer. However, when it comes to drying them, I dry the fitted sheet separately. Pillow cases get terribly winkled when they get caught up in the corners of the fitted sheet. So, the fitted sheet gets dried by itself. It then gets folded or put back on the bed. Then the top sheet and the pillow cases get dried. I always use dryer balls. The sheets come out great. Are they a little wrinkled? Sure but so what! The sheets are cotton and they are soft. Smooth them out a bit on the bed and they're perfect. Did I say these sheets are soft? They are but they are not thin. They have a substantial and luxurious feel. They don't feel like soft flannel. Good thing because I live in Florida. They don't feel like the fabric has been brushed or sueded. These are beautiful sheets that just keep getting better! I have to buy a lot of sheets for my weekly rental units. These sheets are hands-down the best for your money you can find on Amazon. They last a long time through many washings and are soft and comfortable. Make sure you buy the 800 thread count and not the 400 thread count. There is a big difference in quality. Very nice soft comfortable sheets but not as smooth and silky feeling as I was hoping to have. Overall rating of 4 stars because the flat sheet needs to be 4-6 inches wider for my pillowtop mattress. The fitted sheet does have deep pockets so it does fit a tall mattress but the flat sheet is not wide enough and does not have enough drape on the sides. ... show more
