I have bought a few of these while looking for a thin balaclava. These are cheap, reliable, and quick drying. Helps keep sweat off my eyes and helmet clean. I wouldn't say this is warm since it is super thin, but for keeping cool and dry, its great.

While I'd hesitate to classify it as "windproof" -- I was able to breathe through the material easily, which suggests that a strong enough breeze could also pass through it -- this balaclava succeeds in all other areas as advertised. The fabric is a lightweight Spandex material, stretchy enough that it doesn't put too much pressure on the nose when worn across the face. It seems well made; apart from a couple of threads that hadn't been trimmed all the way back to the seam, the construction was clean, with no gaps or holes. The inner seam is finished with an overlock stitch, and all outer edges are bound with tape of the same stretch material. This should keep the edges from tearing or running with repeated stretching. The fit was also fine. Even though I have a larger-than-average head, there was plenty of give in the material to adjust the mask or wear it different ways. The neck portion runs down to about where a standard T-shirt collar sits, so it should be able to be tucked into a jacket or higher-collared shirt. This is actually more comfortable than the face covering I wear beneath some of my masks and headpieces for costume events, so it may end up doing some off-label work as well!

I thought this would be a good idea, but now not so much. I feel kind of dizzy after having it on for a few minutes. It's made out of breathable material, but since it's a snug fit (probably due to my long, full hair) it kind of restricts my breathing, which is not good at all. Another thing, it provides some protection from the wind, but not a lot because the material is so thin. Also, since it doesn't have an opening for the ears, you can't wear sunglasses, unless you want to risk losing them. I like how this mask looks (the material), but it's a no for me (due to the reasons stated above).

I used this balaclava when I went skiing. It is a good size and lightweight. Fits well under your ski gear. My husband grabbed it by mistake when he went and said it also fit him. So good sizing. Fits all size heads. We like the bright blue color. It is easy to spot in all the dark ski clothing. Good product, we are happy with it. Cheers.

I didn't realize this balaclava was for women when I ordered it, so I hope I don't end up with a excess estrogen, or get pregnant from wearing it. (It is, after all, a sex symbol in many Asian countries.) According to the listing there are 10 different ways of wearing it, and the drawings look pretty male (although not actually pretty). There is also a photo, which, judging by the set of the jaw, and faint facial hair, looks to be genetically male, although I could easily be wrong. Sold by the Ligart Store on Amazon, the listing seems to contain a lot of other mixed messages. Some of the colors this item comes in I would definitely have a hard time believing would be worn by a woman, other's seem hard to believe being worn by a man. The listing is typical of many vendors in that is gives every attribute possible, whether it's reasonable or not. Exquisite workmanship on a less than $6 item? Google defines exquisite as being: extremely beautiful and, typically, delicate. Well, I guess exquisite is in the eye of the beholder, although I would not want a balaclava that is delicate, because delicate things usually must be hand washed with Woolite. Sun UV protection? Yah, probably. Thin? True. Silky to the touch? Yes, in my opinion. So silky... Versatile? Absolutely. Wear it to the prom, to a fancy dress ball, to an office party? Wear it to church. Wear it as a niqab with your hijab? Of course, although I might avoid the one in camo. Still, follow your heart. In addition, proudly wear it to the traditional burglary, or armed robbery. Its light and breathable polyester fabric won't slow down your getaway, and remains cool under the most glaring of interrogation lamps. Lastly, for women? Now that's just sexist.
