I had really high hopes for this water bottle. I have been using it with my one year old and while it does keep water cold and is leak proof with the top closed, when the top is open the hinge is very weak and it flips extremely easily. My son being so young doesn’t have the best control, so if he goes to drink, 9/10 times the top and/or handle will cover the straw right in his face before he can get his mouth to it. Sometimes it’ll close on him while he’s drinking if he moves too much. One of us has to be there to hold it back for him, which kind of defeats the purpose. I’d be fine leaving the bottle open and enduring small spills for my son’s convenience if the lid didn’t close on him every time he picked it up to drink. That said, it is by far the most hygienic and easiest to clean kids water bottle I’ve seen yet and it actually has a straw small enough for younger toddlers. ... show more

I bought this bottle for my 8 yo daughter for school. I like that it's metal and so I don't have to worry about the plastic passing any nasty chemicals into the water. It's very easy to take it apart and clean it which was a huge factor for me. The design is cool and my kid really likes it. Easy to drink out of and keeps the water cool. This is my third thermos funtainer for my son. He lost the first one, lost the bottom part of the second, and this batman one is the third one. He takes it to school everyday. The print got a little scratched up somehow, but bottle is nice. It is leakproof as long as straw is pulled out properly from top. Water stays cool and fresh. Some prints are way too expensive than others. I'll continue to buy them as long as I find it at a good price. ... show more

My kids have used these cups for many years. My daughter who started middle school finally decided she couldn’t be seen with Barbie or My little pony anymore so I had to replace it with a plain one. They’ve made some improvements including ribs on the bottom of the mouth spout so you can actually grip it and pull it out to clean it. It used to be smooth and with soapy fingers that was literally impossible. They’ve changed the handle a little so it doesn’t lay flat. I’m not sure how I feel about that yet because I feel like it has more potential to be broken off because it doesn’t nestle properly but so far we haven’t had that issue. We’ve been using these in bags and the car for as long as I can remember and we have never had a leak. The only issue is - if you have something in there that gets warm it will sometimes explode out when you pop it open. We’ve only ever used it for water so that’s not a big deal but something to keep in mind if you were doing sticky beverages. One last thought is they do get holes in the mouth pieces easily if your kids are prone to chewing on the straws. I still have trouble with my son doing that however there are replacement straws on Amazon which are much cheaper than the ones that come with it. They will fit this version but they are not as easy to get out as the one that comes with it. Also, they do keep beverages cold a very long time especially if it starts out with ice. My daughter reported that she still has cold water even in the last period of her school day. On a negative note, they are not dishwasher safe. We have always hand washed ours. So if you’re somebody that doesn’t want to do that, I would not recommend these. ... show more

My granson takes it to school. He drinks a lot of water and when its empty he fills it up again at the water fountain. Nice size to put n his back pack and not too bulky to take to the park. Constructed very well. Should last a long time.

This is my favorite water bottle for the kids. It has a handle, leak proof if you make sure the straw is pulled all the way, great designs, straw is covered so not always exposed when it gets thrown on the floor, even the one year old can open it. The only con I would say is it’s difficult to fully clean the straw but it’s great that you can replace it. Also, my kids have chewed through a lot of straw bottles, but these have held up quite well. Would like it in a larger size with a straw like this (I think the larger size is only a spout). My kids inhale water so I often have to fill it up. Keeps the cold with ice in it. The value is the best. I would even prefer this over more expensive brands. ... show more

My almost 4-year old loves this water bottle! I ended up swapping the lid with another Thermos Funtainer (16 oz bottle with wide spout lid) for ease of cleaning. The built-in straws just do not feel sanitary, and using the straw brush daily is impractical for us. We didn't need the water-tight seal, as the bottle is for room-temperature water at preschool. I would buy another design, although I wish the wide spout lid option was available for these as well. ... show more
