I have a kid who eats pretty much nothing but variations of peanut butter. In desperation (and trying to get him to eat something, anything other than peanut butter, I got this thinking that I could send him with hot meals a few times a week. Thermoses have come a long way from when I was a kid. I fill this up with boiling water first thing in the morning and let it sit while I cook breakfast for the kids. Then I make his lunch, dump the hot water out, wipe the Thermos dry, and fill it with his hot meal (mac-n-cheese, leftovers from the night before, tortillas with cheese, whatever I think I can get down him), and send him off to school. Works great!! Top and bottom are black not blue. My son has sensory issues and eats about 10 things total. 8 of those things are hot. Needless to say lunchtime at school can be a nightmare....not anymore. I preheat the thermos with boiling water and seal it for 3-5 minutes. Then heat your food to a temperature that is hotter than you would normally eat it. Dump out the water and fill the thermos with your food. Seal and go. I put the thermos in a separate lunch box from his cold items to help it stay hot. It lasts at least 4 hours. Definitely recommend!! ... show more

We have four of these little Thermoses. They are great for sending my kids with hot breakfast/lunch. I even use them myself sometimes. They seem small, but they hold a generous portion (two packets of oatmeal, a bowl of soup, etc.). I pack lunches at about 6:45 in the morning, and my kids don't eat until 11:30 or so and say that sometimes their lunch is still too hot when they first open it. Bought the minion one and thought it was gonna look just like the picture black etc it arrived and looked like this. I'm not disappointed I actually like the one I recived I wouldn't advertise it that way though it's not black. Seems to keep my son's chicken nuggets warm till lunch. This is really cute. My 5-year old can open it easily. I have not used it yet but have used other Thermos products without issue. My other Thermos food jars have kept the food warm for 4 to 5 hours easily. The soups stayed hotter than some of the casseroles but each day is different. To keep it warmer with cold food also in the lunchbox, I wrap a small towel or washcloth around the Thermos. It helped some. I would recommend this Thermos but each person's perception of hot is very different. ... show more

Bought this for my five year old son for his schools lunches. I specifically got this one because it matches his lunch bag and backpack. Well I received a totally different thermos from what’s shown on the photo. The one I received is like teal colored and gray and doesn’t match with his lunch bag. We wanted to share that we ordered the Minions one, and it's nothing like the picture. It's black instead of teal and the design is totally different (see my picture). We may have picked a different one had we known. After a quick test, it seems to not leak, which was our primary concern.
