  • It's a Thermaltake Desk!!!
Style: Level 20 Color: Rgb
The media could not be loaded. I got this desk during the pandemic and work from home became a thing. After using this desk for about a year and a half I will say that this is a great sit / stand desk. The price was something that really made me think twice before buying it. I will say that is definitely a niche desk for people who MUST have an RGB gaming sit/stand desk and can afford it’s really high price. I will say that this desk was not easy to put together. I ran into several issues where the pre drilled holes for screws were not aligned. On my first try I put the legs on backwards. Labeling of the parts could have been a little bit better by stamping the “L” or “R” to some of the parts. Making sure the rod that attaches to the motor took a few tries to get it working right. Even though the supplied tools were provided, I would recommend using a hammer drill when I was screwing into metal and a power drill set between 1-3 so you don’t strip the screws that need to be screwed into wood. I would then hand tighten the last part. In addition to using electric tools I did need to pull out my ½” metal drill bit to re-drill 8 holes into the metal brackets to get the screws to align correctly. There was also a loose wire to one of the LED light ropes so I did also have to pull out my soldering iron and glue gun to secure the loose wire. While struggling to get this desk put together, I did call Amazon help-desk to try and troubleshoot the issue with the misaligned screw holes and lighting issue. In the end they did give me a couple of hundred dollar discount on the desk… This convinced me to keep the desk. After all was said and done. It took me right around 6 hours to put this desk together. So after the 9 boxing rounds I went through with putting the desk together and saving some money, I put this desk to use and installed a SAMSUNG Odyssey CRG Series 49” Dual QHD Gaming Monitor (LC49RG90SSNXZA) on an Ergotron – HX Single Ultrawide Monitor Arm with HD Pivot. I also bought a Lenovo USA ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 135W (40AN0135US) Docking station to connect my Final mouse, Logitech Keyboard, and other peripherals. With this setup I can use just about any USB-C computer to connect to my desk. I do love the wire organizing bar under the desk to hide most of my wires and make it look a lot cleaner. All I need to do is unplug the USB-C thunderbolt cable and I’m on the go. I do have to turn off the RGB lights when I’m in meetings because the light is so bright it reflects off my clothes. When I’m doing a video conference call and forget to turn off the RGB lights people will notice the “seizure lights”. Honestly, I just leave the RGB lights off unless I’m showing the desk off to someone. I set my sitting position at 73 and my stand position at 103. These setting are perfect for when I want to either sit in my chair or stand. I love the soft matt that covers nearly the entire desktop. Overall I do like the desk but would not want to build this desk ever again. ... show more

  • A lot of desk for a giant price tag
Style: Level 20 Color: Rgb
The media could not be loaded. I have a lot to say about this desk. First off, wow. This was my absolute dream desk that I've been wanting for almost 2 years and I must say, I was not disappointed. I'm doing a full Thermaltake Level 20 build and had to have it. Obviously the first thing you may notice is the price as it most certainly isn't for everybody. However, if you love RGB and need a well-built desk, this is the sturdiest height adjustable desk I've tested. Second... so I used to do in-home furniture assemblies for Amazon, IKEA and Office Depot. I've put together hundreds of desks including other electronic height-adjustable desks and I have to say, this is by far the most complicated/difficult piece of furniture I've ever assembled. I'm an assembly professional and this was not an easy or fun desk to do. I think I clocked my final assembly time with adjustments at right under 3 hours and that's considering I was very familiar with how to put something like this together. On top of that, the manual (which comes in like 4 different languages) has the smallest pictures for reference and I can assure you, if you're putting this together with manual hand tools (most are provided) and you aren't familiar with using tools in general, you'll probably spend 4 5-6 hours putting it together as it is also pretty heavy. I'm very serious, it was a major endeavor. In summary, the desk itself is awesome, lighting effects are top-notch and it really does feel expensive. I'd buy it again for sure. The one thing I would recommend is during the motorized shaft installation, you may want to plug in the controller to test that the motor will spin both sides of the shaft. I got it all put together and realized the shaft was not tight enough, causing only one side to lift which will most certainly damage to desk, so I had to unbolt the shroud that covers the shaft (its inverted so it is really difficult to unbolt 6 screws with an allen wrench) to tighten the shaft connectors adding about 30 minutes after the fact. Please note, I also do NOT recommend using power tools on any part of this desk, if you crossthread or damage any bolts or panels, you're going to have a really, really bad time. ... show more

  • Worth the price, but put aside seven hours for assembly
Style: Level 20 Color: Rgb
The media could not be loaded. Beautiful, sturdy RGB desk with tons of room, motorized desk adjustment and a full desk mousepad. Amazing overall product. No missing pieces or anything like that. I’m really happy and impressed with the product itself and it does justify the cost, but beware: assembly is extremely difficult and lengthy. Make sure you research ahead of time the drill bits you will need for the screws and bolts. I didn’t have any drill bits that fit their screws because they were pretty specific in size and type, so i had to use the included tools to build by hand. Also, although i did it by myself, i strongly recovered asking for someone to help you out. There’s some pretty tricky positions you have to get in in order to line up the threads with the screws, and it gets pretty tiring after a while. It took me 7 hours without a break to finish assembly. But again, the result was worth the price, the final product is very satisfactory. It just got difficult when their tutorial video started skipping over some steps and doing things differently than the small manual included ... show more
