Description

The Therm-a-Rest Saros 20-Degree Synthetic Mummy Sleeping Bag perfect for warm weather, three-season camping and backpacking. Filled with highly compressible, lightweight synthetic eraLoft insulation, an outstanding down alternative that utilizes hollow fibers, it provides warmth even when wet. The microfiber poly insulation is enclosed in 20D ripstop polyester with a durable water repellent finish, for cold and wet weather applications. Mummy construction features a cinchable hood, insulated toe pocket, and a zipper draft tube and draft collar keep out the cold. Reflective ThermaCapture seams trap body heat, while zoned insulation keeps loft on the top side of the bag to capture rising warm air. SynergyLink Connectors and loops integrate the sleeping bag with a sleeping pad, and additional blankets or quilts, to eliminate cold spots, and prevent shifting during sleep. The Therm-a-Rest Saros 20-Degree Synthetic Mummy Bag is available in three sizes, left zip only. Small sleeping bag fits heights up to five feet six inches, weighs 3 pounds 4 ounces and packs down to 10x17 inches. Regular sleeping bag fits heights up to six feet, weighs 3 pounds 8 ounces and packs down to 8x18 inches. Long sleeping bag fits heights up to six feet six inches, weighs 3 pounds 12 ounces, and packs down to 13x18 inches. Compression stuff sack and storage sack included. Limited lifetime warranty.

I bought this sleeping bag based upon the reviews and research. I needed a warm sleeping bag for my daughter, but she is a side sleeper and tosses around as most 8 year olds. The rectangular bag she used before was “to roomy” for her. Especially when the temperatures dropped to the mid 40s F, her small frame couldn’t warm up all that space she enjoyed. This bag has a roomy mid section which allows her to wiggle around and get comfortable, yet it doesn’t have so much open space that she got cold. We went camping in Escondido, Ca where the temperature was in the mid to low 40s and she was fine. I would recommend this bag. I love this sleeping bag. I've used this down to 23°F and it kept me warm enough to sleep but I was still cold. I'm a cold sleeper in general so maybe that's why but I also think the "comfort" rating was measured without any air movement at all. It is not comfortable at 20°F unless you add a blanket over the top or a rain jacket to keep in the warmth. Also, the labels that look printed on are just plastic glued to the inside. They keep falling off one letter at time. Not a big deal because there is no residue but I wish they'd stay because I like the statistics labels lol anyways, this would have been 5 stars if they used the same professionalism to build the product as they did to research how to make the product. I also wish it was a bit warmer but that's fine, I didn't get the warmer one because it looks too big for my backpack. Looks like this one was the right size. I can strap a rumpl blanket to outside of my pack during the coldest months. ... show more

THIS. BAG. IS. AWESOME. This bag is rated to 20°F so I bought it to use mostly from 30-50°F. I camped out with this bag in 47° weather. I wore thermal underwear bottoms and a thin athletic T-shirt. The bag warmed quickly and I left the top unzipped about 15 inches and didn't use the hood. I stayed warm all night. My feet stayed warm without socks. I'm generally a cold sleeper and like a lot of warmth around me when sleeping. I'm about 5'5" with broad shoulders. The Small bag is a snug fit but very easy to move around in. It felt like a perfect fit. I didn't feel claustrophobic at all, even when fully zipped and the drawstring cinched down on the hood. I could twist around in the bag and move easily. There was room to pull my arms up to my chest. This is the first sleeping bag that I've used that didn't feel excessively long. It just felt cozy and I didn't want to get out of the bag. The two straps on the back of the bag held the sleeping pad in place all night. I had no issues with the bag sliding off the pad. The zipper was completely snag free and the drawstring easy to use. I just can't say enough about how happy I am with this bag. The long search for a bag was worth it. Therm-a-Rest down bags look very good and the down is treated for water resistance. The things that made me choose this bag with synthetic fill is its more natural resistance to moisture and price. It may be a few ounces heavier and slightly less compact in a stuff sack but moisture resistance and price made it the right bag for me. This bag is very good. Bought the 20 degree version. I've been camping in cold northern Minnesota weather in this. The comfort rating is 32 degrees. Honestly anything under and your extremities start to get cold. Five stars for the fact you get exactly what thermarest tells you it is. The most comfortable bag I've owned, the inner material is soft and doesn't feel like cheap polyester on the skin. The footbox is roomy, you can actually turn in this bag. For a synthetic bag I couldn't be happier. Only thing I've noticed is that it is made in China. I was under the impression all thermarest products were made in the United States. Not a deal breaker but would be nice to be made in house. ... show more
