Description

The Therm-a-Rest Corus Down Backpacking and Camping Quilt offers the perfect balance of functionality and warmth for three-season backcountry adventures, or for layering in colder conditions. The box baffled construction with packable 650-fill Nikwax Hydrophobic Down retains heat and utilizes mesh walls to minimize cold spots, along with full perimeter side baffles and snap closure keep out drafts. A footbox can slip over the bottom of a sleeping pad to eliminate drafts, or provide extra warmth. The SynergyLink Connectors are perimeter snap loops that mate with another Therm-a-Rest mattress, quilt, sleeping bag, blanket or sheet for a warm, 2-person sleep system. The Corus quilt is available in two styles with two sizes: The 20-Degree, Regular measures 79x49.5x4.5 inches, fits heights up to 6 feet, and weighs 1.63 pounds; 20-Degree Long measures 83x53x4.5 inches, fits heights up to 6.5 feet 6 inches, and weighs 1.81 pounds (both 20-Degree sizes pack to 11.5x7.5 inches); 32-Degree, Regular measures 79x49.5x4 inches, fits heights up to 6 feet, and weighs 1.25 pounds; 32-Degree, Long measures 83x53x4 inches, fits heights up to 6 feet 6 inches, and weighs 1.38 pounds (both 32-Degree sizes pack to 10x6.5 inches). As a user of a 35 degree version of this quilt, I already was a fan of the brand and style for their excellent qualities, especially the down. As my camping adventures got more extreme, the 35 degree quilt became insufficient; therefore, I acquired the 20 degree version, in the long style. This quilt is very well made, has a noticeably thicker and slightly heavier loft than the 35 degree version. It's also super long, and even though I'm 6'4" (192 cm?) tall, I can pull this quilt up over my head if needed, with about an inch to spare. The foot box is a tad bit deeper, which is good because I don't want to wake up after kicking a foot out of the quilt as exposed body parts get cold quickly above 10,000 feet - even in the summer. Edit: I like this quilt so much it has become my main bedroom blanket all winter. I like sleeping with the heat low but not 20 degrees low; this quilt is amazingly comfortable at temperatures far above 20 degrees. The heat doesn't seem to built up at all despite the thickness of the down. Sleeping under this quilt is very comfortable, over 60 nights used so far. I have a comfort rated 24 degree bag and wanted to try this top quilt for my upcoming AT thruhike. 1- the specs should tell people it’s 20F limit (meaning you can survive at 20 degrees with this bag but you will still be very cold) 2-it’s 650 fill is not made for winter or cold- but it’s very full and fluffy. 3-when held up to the light behind it, you can see where the gaps are in the fill. There are less gaps in this than my sierra designs cloud 20. 4- this is so comfy and cozy it feels like a couch blanket, not a sleeping bag! I will be uploading a video once I’ve used it on trail in the cold. As of now, I can recommend for mild temps but not frigid temps. Must use a good r value rated pad with this, 4.2 or above. ... show more
