We're a full time traveling family currently living in Mexico. Before we left the US in 2011, I had NO IDEA how important understanding visa rules and regulations was. That was until we accidentally overstayed our shortened visa in Costa Rica and were threatened with a $100 per passport fine. Thankfully it all worked out, but never again will I take visa issues for granted. This book is well worth the money (actually under-priced, in my opinion). If you value your time AT ALL, and travel outside of the US, this is a must have resource. We are an American family of 4 living in Spain. We often travel and are planning SE Asia next. After doing much research on line, trying to figure out all of the visa requirements, I was feeling overwhelmed. Then we purchased this Visa Guide and I love it! As any traveler knows, visas are critical - and the process of getting them can be confusing. Enter this book - it's an excellent resource guide to visas for US citizens. The guide is extremely well-organized, with clickable links (LOVE ebooks!) to the different countries and sections, if you're deep into planning (as opposed to deep into dreaming). The book not only lists all of the countries you can head to, but excellent resource sections on CA-4 region (Central America), the Schengen Zone (Europe), renewable visas, countries requiring advance visas, countries requiring vaccinations, visa costs, and countries where travel is not advised. There are also chapters on traveling with children, travel safety, and yellow fever. But what I love most are the personal stories scattered throughout, from travelers all around the world, talking about their experiences with visas. Highly recommended! ... show more
