Description

Known only as The Unit, they are an ultra-secret contingent of Special Forces soldiers who operate outside the usual military chain of command. Their very existence is a closely held secret protected by the soldiers themselves. Their wives, who are also in on the secret, strictly adhere to a fictitious cover story that is provided for them. The Unit chronicles a team of unknown heroes who, without ever receiving credit, risk their lives while protecting others.

  • The Unit Season 3
My husband and I just recently started watching the Unit and have absolutely loved it. There is something for everyone. My husband loves the action/adventure (things blowing up), I love the depth of the characters and we both love the storyline including the military and what it entails. We enjoyed the series 24 and were fond of the character President Palmer played by Dennis Haysbert who is one of the main characters in The Unit. He has such a strong presence in any role he plays. The Unit has chosen it's actors and actresses well. Those that are not on the show any longer will be missed greatly. If you are looking for a good series to watch, you need to purchase the Unit. We are trying to patiently wait for the Unit Season 4 to be released next month. We wish we'd known about the series sooner. ... show more

  • Very Entertaining
Finally a "shoot em up" that my husband and I can both enjoy. This is well done. They alternate between sessions with the guys on their missions and then back home with the wives. We have watched all seasons and are very sad there is no more to watch. This took precedence over other shows we usually watch so we are at a loss right now. Very well filmed and the casting is just excellent. Highly recommend the entire series. We began by just trying one....and look what happened! Kind of like those potato chips...can't eat just one. ... show more

  • Great Show! Great Action Sequences!
Great show! I was hooked on this show the day I watched the first episode on TV. The action scenes are done really well. Too bad CBS moved the show's time slot to Sunday nights at 10pm. Not only did it make it tough to stay up and watch, but any sports games that ran late pushed the show even later! It's nice to be able and watch these later shows on Amazon. The third season started off with a bang as the Unit faces a major shake down by another government agency. If that wasn't enough, an event mid-season really changes the team up. Really great show...just a shame that CBS buried it on a late night Sunday slot, which likely contributed to its cancellation. ... show more

  • Good show. Well worth watching. Review applies to all seasons thru S4
Show as a whole is a good show . The bond of respect, camaraderie, internal political manipulation with upper chain is all well done for the most part. I would take this on an episode by episode basis. They aren't all great but there are some great ones. When it started the relationships of the operators with their wives was well done - it revealed the challenges of a civilian (wife) trying to deal with a hard core soldier while living a routine day to day life, while somewhat well contrasting it with a soldier who deals with the fragility of life daily, at a level far more acute than just a routine soldier, due to the nature of his missions. This difficult relationship, I believe, is a large part of PTSD. The UNIT's attempt to show this was a decent effort at times. HOWEVER, apparently the writers lost their way because the entire involvement of "the wives" subsequently degrades to garbage "filler" material, PTA( yeah, like grade school) level, uninteresting and completely unnecessary material in this and later seasons. To the point where I began to fast forward whenever I saw any of the wives show up on screen. This stigma created a "self'cannibalized" event for the show because although there may have been portions that were good that included the wives, I never saw them and am okay with it. I don't think the quality of good TV or film should ever be compromised or traded for quantity. ... show more

  • Very Well Played Military Special Ops Forces Story that also Includes those at Home and Hoe '''they h
We have really enjoyed watching all the seasons of "The Unit" that we have seen so far. I think we are now viewing Season 4 which is the last one, and I'm going to feel like I'm missing family that I've grown fond of. "The Unit" is about a Special Ops Unit of the Military and the missions they do. You see how the men have to be intelligent and very flexible to change to their different roles that they take on to accomplish such missions. The story plot doesn't just center around the men, but it also goes back and forth between them and the families at home. You see what the wives are going through, how it effects the children, and just how dangerous it can be for everyone involved. The writer did an absolutely wonderful job as well as the director and all the rest of the crew who made this series. It is so addicting that we are really going to miss it when we play the last season! ... show more

  • Great Season! Great Series!
I bought seasons 2 and 3 when I was halfway through watching season 1! The third season was just as good as the first two (which normally would be a downside that it was not any better than the first two, but the first two were so good that this one definitely did not disappoint). The characters and plots are great, and if you are not hooked by now, you never will be. My suggestion would be to go ahead and buy all three seasons at once...otherwise you will be angry for a whole week in between while you wait for amazon to send the next one... ... show more

  • The Unit: The Complete Third Season
I loved the first two seasons. I didn't watch the series while it was on TV but only after it ended and via DVD from my local library. I was hooked, just like I was hooked on "24". Season 3 added onto the real-life, "it could happen", scenarios given the ongoing mid-east and post-Soviet Europe political climate. And being an "Army Brat" (my father was a career combat soldier who served in Korea and Viet-Nam), I can relate to the army base lifestyle and its dramas. Can't wait to watch Season 4......... ... show more
