  • Excellent addition to The Secret Doctrine
A great book for all of you who are into New Age and history/future of mankind. When I started to read this book, I didn't even know about the Secret Doctrine. Of course, after finishing it, I read the H.P.B classic... The Solar System is an excellent complementary reading, when it comes to the mavantara/pralaya cycles, rounds, races, etc... There's some pictures showing the cycles that make easy to understand how our solar system works. After all, it is a must read. ... show more

Apparently this book is based on some earlier writings and books of the time - some influence of Hindu writings, and other writings based possibly on vril and books about Atlantis. The book sort of reads like a historical narrative or historical fiction (like Tolkien's Silmarillion), and somehow tries to relate racial evolution of humans to periods of time. It even delves into life on other nearby planets in the solar system as well as tries to look into the future (this was written in the 30's - including a claim about India still being part of the British empire). The author also tells about the history of Greeks thousands of years in the past (even though the ancient Greeks were preceded by the Mycenaean civilization). ... show more
