There is no zipper but there is a button closure that works very well. I read that some of these bags didn't have a lining but this one does. These bags are beautiful, very roomy and soft luxe quality suede. I have one recommendation, do yourself a favor buy a purse organizer. (They have them here on Amazon) I’m wondering if that’s why it says it’s frequently returned. Anyways if you don’t use one , you will def. loose your stuff at the bottom. I bought 3 sizes of this bag ( Los Feliz) and I love them all ! I love the quality of them. I bought 2 in mushroom suede, and one in the sand suede, colors are gorgeous ! Just know and expect that there is not really any organization, that’s up to you to provide. The bag looks good and is very lightweight. I’m still not completely sure about the leather quality since it feels a little thin and like it could get rough over time, but so far it seems okay. Hopefully it lives up to the hype online, since I’ve also seen reviews saying it holds up well.
