Description

I hated Connor Masters as much as it was possible to hate someone. I hate the smiles he so seldom gives. The carefully uncareful swoop of his hair. The soft tone of voice he uses on the select few he cares about. The stretch of his shoulders beneath his shirts, broader every year. I hate him because it makes loving him easier. I hate him because he doesn't know I'm his. He should know. Even through the suppressants that give me horrible migraines, even beneath long sleeves and leggings that keep my irritated mating gland and injection bruises hidden. We've been drawn to each other since we were children. He should know. But he barely looks at me these days.He looks at her. This is a standalone novel. Read more

  • Very satisfying
Format: Kindle
This is a truly satisfying spicy "he done me wrong but boy is he sorry!" themed story. Both main characters feel like regular people. The trauma drama is well written, the spice is raunchy but kinda wholesome(?). The only complaint I have is her gay friend. He seems a little flat, stereotypical and he abandoned her at the bar during his birthday celebration! That would be a huge issue for any woman but especially for one with abandonment triggers but this main character doesn't even give Roy a hard time for it. She still goes places with him and talks to him like he didn't commit an egregious breach of friendship rules. I mean, she almost got graped but has zip to say about it to the birthday boy that insisted she be there and then disappeared. Other than that one thing, it's an enjoyable read through and through. ... show more

  • Good & short OV story!
Format: Kindle
There is such an overabundance of everyone & their mother attempting to write A/O stories, and not all are good lol I'm usually skeptic of summaries/blurbs as I have found some bait n switch books before. I found this accidentally, while searching for a different OV story theme, but I decided to take a chance on it. I'm glad I did! I stayed up all night just to finish this book lol While it feels like not enough background was given to the MMC, on what truly happened all those years ago to the FMC, it didn't bother me too much. But what did bother me is again reaching the HEA of a decent story to find there's no decent HEA chapter or ending. Cool, girl gets boy / mates find each other / blah blah.... but, I want to see the fruits of the labor in spending hours going through the emotional rollercoaster with the FMC. I want a better pay off from PNR stories than just the bland "and they lived happily ever after". IDK why Authors spend days/weeks/months/years building their characters and their stories to just through very little care in crafting a deep HEA chapter. I think I can count on one hand the amount of authors I found, over the years, that actually gave just as much attention, care, and detail to the epilogue that matched the actual story leading up to it. Otherwise, I don't regret reading this! I just hope the Author chooses to give a bit more when it comes to showing us the ending of their stories, because it doesn't feel the same when the audience is left to imagine how their lives unfold once the last word is read. ... show more

  • Heartbreaking šŸ’” But Amazing HEA
Format: Kindle
First book I have read by Sara Sellers and I absolutely loved it. Rejected mates is such a heartbreaking trope and this was so well done. I love the connection that the FMC had with the MMCs dad and his loyalty to her. It is so hard to be mad at the MMC and have a grovel good enough to forgive him, but I understand where he was coming from when he didn’t show up. I do find it a lil unforgivable that he wouldn’t answer her call or that he gave up on his so called ā€œlove of his lifeā€ so easily, but when you are young you are dumb lol šŸ˜‚ If Sara continues more Omegaverse or dabbles in RH Omegaverse I will definitely be reading. Her writing style was great and the emotion was spot on 😘 ... show more

  • good and angsty, but felt it unfinished ~ spoilers abound, read at your own risk
Format: Kindle
In case you don't read review titles (I know I don't) there are spoilers in this review. I liked the beginning of the story a lot, but it felt like major plot points happened so quickly. I really didn't like that after the devastation and betrayal she felt, our fmc held onto her v card and didn't even try a heat clinic. Or therapy. Or that neither her doctor nor the father figure (mmc's dad, of course) didn't make her going to therapy a requirement in order to stay on the suppressants. There are also no chapters from the mmc's perspective, which could have potentially saved him. As it was, he mostly annoyed me. Apparently quite intelligent but dumb as box of hammers when it came to his best friend/the woman he'd always loved and wanted/the woman he threw away because of that age old excuse - "I didn't want to lose you as a friend" - and of course lost her anyway. ... show more

  • Great writing
Format: Kindle
I use my husband's Amazon account for Kindle books and I'm going to preface this by saying, I'm not usually an OV reader but I stumbled upon this book and gave it a chance so all that said here we go: The writing is great. No spelling errors and the characters are believable. I really was here for the story. The angst of Fmc is really well done without it being obnoxious, overdone, and in your face. Others have mentioned they felt like the last half of the book felt rushed but I didn't notice that as much. I think the story flowed well and came to a natural conclusion. It's an HEA that's realistic. I would've enjoyed an epilogue but that's just me being greedy. My one gripe: The OV verbage around sex took me out of the moment. But like I mentioned I'm not usually an OV reader so this probably wouldn't be an issue for regular readers. So if you're not familiar with the OV this isn't for you. I'm interested in reading Ms. Sellers' other works. ... show more

  • Angsty Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
I have a weakness for this genre and I’m so glad I found Sara Sellers. This is solid writing with plenty of tension to keep you turning the page. I hope she continues to build and write in this world.

  • Very good!
Format: Kindle
I am not normally a fan of rejected mates, but I decided to try this one. I must admit to wanting the main male character to fall off a cliff at times. He does somewhat redeem himself after the female puts him through the wringer. She doesn’t give in to him and I really liked that. Overall, enjoyed the book and will read more by the author. ... show more

  • Rejection Has Entered the Chat
Format: Kindle
This was my first read from Sara Sellers, and I gotta say—color me impressed. The omegaverse is my comfort-food genre, and I’m picky—but this one delivered. I started reading this at the doctor’s office, and had a hard time trying not to let the tears in my eyes give me away. Lana’s pain hit hard. Anyone who’s ever experienced unrequited love can relate—but when it’s your mate who doesn’t return those feelings? That kind of hurt runs deep. Lana’s pain was so raw and real, and while I got why she didn’t tell Connor they were mates (wanting to be chosen by his heart, not his biology), I also found myself yelling at the page like, ā€œGirl, please just SAY something!ā€ Because Connor was already halfway in love with her and didn’t even know he had a spiritual bond backing it up. Keeping it from him felt unfair, especially when everyone knew how much he cared about her. Watching him struggle without the full picture was frustrating in the best way. Despite being just 222 pages, this book didn’t feel rushed. It was packed with angst, yearning, and just enough spice to keep the pulse racing. Now, the only thing that didn’t sit right? The ending. Have you ever been walking and suddenly step into a hole you didn’t see? That full-body jolt, the way everything stops without warning? That’s how the ending felt. It didn’t ruin the story, but it definitely made me blink at the page like, Wait, that’s it? I needed a bit more closure, or at least an epilogue. Bottom line: A heartfelt, emotional omegaverse with strong characters and real depth. Just be prepared for an ending that stops a little too suddenly. āļøāļøāļøāļø HEA? yes 3rd act break-up? yes-ish 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5 ... show more
