  • Finally Fixing My Own HVAC Without the Panic
Format: Kindle
Our old AC unit has been acting up for months. Loud rattling, uneven cooling, the whole nine yards. I was dreading calling a tech and dropping $500, so I grabbed The Practical HVAC Manual and man, what a lifesaver. This book's step-by-step guides with clear illustrations walked me through diagnosing the issue (turned out to be a dirty filter and loose fan belt) and fixing it myself in an afternoon. No guesswork, no fancy tools needed but rather just basic stuff I had in the garage. The maintenance tips are gold too. Now I'm set for seasonal checks to avoid breakdowns. Smith's writing is straightforward, like a buddy explaining over a beer, without all the jargon that usually confuses me. Saved me a bundle and boosted my DIY confidence. If you're a homeowner tired of pricey repairs, get this book as it's practical, empowering, and worth every penny. ... show more

  • HVAC or just VAC
Format: Paperback
I thought that by saying on the cover, "save hundreds on repairs", the book would have information about all types of repairs. The book is a good class in refrigeration, airflow and preventive maintenance. A few common repairs on AC units and very little on how to repair a furnace, even how it works, reduced to five lines. ... show more

  • An Excellent Resource for DIYers and New HVAC Technicians
Format: Kindle
This book does a great job of making HVAC concepts approachable without oversimplifying them. The numerous color diagrams and visuals are especially helpful, turning complex topics like refrigerant flow, electrical troubleshooting, and airflow analysis into something much easier to understand. I appreciated the practical, hands on approach, which focuses on real world diagnosis and repair rather than just theory. Whether you’re a homeowner wanting to better understand your system or a new technician building foundational skills, this guide offers clear explanations and useful troubleshooting strategies that can save both time and money. ... show more

  • A homeowners must have
Format: Kindle
Very easy to follow for a beginner and really helps you to understand how the system works and how to maintain and diagnose common issues. The pictures are detailed and in color which really helps you follow along with something to reference. Would be really great for an install apprentice or someone looking to get into an hvac trade or just wanting to save on the cost of having an hvac tech out lol ... show more

  • Not much useful
Format: Paperback
Looks like self published book. The "80+ color illustrations" are small and pointless, like somebody was playing with Visio and dragged bunch of random shapes on the page and tried to make them work but mostly failed. Most of the meat of the book is in references to Youtube videos so there is no much information in the boot itself. ... show more
