  • Best rock stop out there
Bought for my cellist teenaged son because he disliked using the standard end pin anchor (the one that is hooked to the leg of a chair) when on stage. I’ve actually bought a couple of them to have a back up in case one gets misplaced/lost. Pros: 1) He really likes that they don’t slide around on stages with polished hardwood (like regular end pin anchors apparently do). 2) They seem to be quite durable. He’s had his for several months and there’s been no chipping or tearing to the grip on the bottom. 3) It’s easy to clean with a damp microfiber cloth. 4) The dark color reduces glare/shine from the stage lights. My son said that sometimes with a regular end pin anchor the glare from the stage lights would shine in his eyes which he found to be annoying. This rock stop causes him no problems. Cons: 1) There is a distinct old tire smell when first opening the package. My son said that the smell dissipated after about a week of airing out and regular use. Overall, this product is of good quality. If you or the cellist in your life needs a solid rock stop, this is the best value for money, hands down. ... show more

  • Good solid anchor for your cello
Excellent stable endpoint holder! I have faux hardwood laminate flooring, and many other stops I have tried will not grip it and slide all over the place. This however, stays firmly in place even when heavily leaning into the cello. Highly recommended at first using. I will come back and amend the review if I feel nd any shortcomings over time. Meanwhile, this is going back in my wishlist to buy several more as backups, as I always seem to forget to put these in my case when packing up and going home. ... show more

  • Good
Much better than anything else I have - but I find it still slips a little. UPDATE: I found if I wet the bottom of the slip stop, it stops slipping. I think sometimes you can accidentally get dust on the bottom surface, which seems to make this item slip. I take a paper towel folded a few times to make a small square/ rectangle about the size of the slip stops, put it under the faucet to get really wet, and then squeeze the hell out of it between the palms of my hands. Then, thoroughly dampen the bottom of the slip stop, and it works like a charm – never slips. Just to be sure, I will purchase a rock stop that attaches to the chair leg. But I use this slip stop at home every day for practice. ... show more

  • Great for doublebass
I use it for double bass. It's the best endpin that I've found. It's the best for double bass

  • Seriously the only thing that works!
I've been a cello teacher for 12 years and this is the ONLY thing I've tried that actually works - and I've tried lots. To really emphasize how effectively this works, I teach a foundational reliance on gravity in my technique - so my students typically have a lot of weight in their arms when they play in order to ground their structure and prevent hand frame distortions. This endpin rest can really take it!! ... show more
