Much better than anything else I have - but I find it still slips a little. UPDATE: I found if I wet the bottom of the slip stop, it stops slipping. I think sometimes you can accidentally get dust on the bottom surface, which seems to make this item slip. I take a paper towel folded a few times to make a small square/ rectangle about the size of the slip stops, put it under the faucet to get really wet, and then squeeze the hell out of it between the palms of my hands. Then, thoroughly dampen the bottom of the slip stop, and it works like a charm – never slips. Just to be sure, I will purchase a rock stop that attaches to the chair leg. I use on a hardwood floor and it works very well. Sometimes when I feel really tired and I'm slumping (bad habit), it seems like the cello is moving. But I have not figure out if it's just my imagination, because I'm tired and slumping, of if it's the rest. It's very likely the former. At any rate, I'd certainly purchase this again and am very pleased. I am an adult just learning to play cello, and I couldn't continue without this device. I was about to pay $17 for something at my local music shop. That would have been a waste of money (especially having buying the cello). ... show more

    • Slipstop Endpin Rest for Cello is a must for “slick” floors
Good slipstop endpin for my husband’s cello. This product can be placed under the rest pin and helps keep the cello in place while playing on certain flooring which the rest pin might more easily slip. It’s a good product to have if playing on a slick flor as I has a somewhat rubbery bottom which doesn’t slide around on the floor. ... show more
