I decided to try The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% after constantly seeing people talk about it on TikTok, especially people with rosacea and sensitive skin like mine. I was honestly hesitant at first because the texture is definitely thicker than a lot of products I normally use, and thicker creams/products tend to irritate my skin or make me nervous about flare ups. To be safe, I started off using a very small amount, and I’m really glad I gave it a chance. I’ve only been using it consistently for about a week so far, but I can already see and feel a difference in my skin. Nothing unrealistic or overnight, but enough that my skin feels calmer, healthier, and more comfortable overall. The redness in my face looks less angry, and my skin texture feels smoother too. Even though the formula is thicker, it doesn’t feel heavy once applied. A little goes a long way, and using too much definitely isn’t necessary. I think easing into it slowly helped my skin adjust really well without irritation. As someone with rosacea, I’m extremely cautious about trying trending skincare products because my skin reacts to things so easily. A lot of viral products end up being too harsh for me, but this one genuinely deserves the hype it’s getting. It feels effective without destroying my skin barrier, which is hard to find. I’ve added two new products to my hyper pigmentation routine recently, this being one, and have had amazing results in a short time! My only, and largest, qualm is with the size. It is cheap, but so small, and half if not more was air.. would love for the product to have a little more product in it!

I am very happy with the way this helped calm down redness and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I have sensitive skin, and while my breakouts are fairly mild they can also be stubborn and I've had a hard time getting them under control. I've tried so many over-the-counter treatments, but even the mildest tend to be too harsh for me, causing dryness and inflammation. I've used this product for about a year, and while it hasn't fixed everything it's the best product I've tried for consistent improvement without wrecking my skin barrier. This stuff has seriously helped to clear up my skin! I struggled with scarring and redness from acne and now I have gone from using a high coverage makeup to no makeup at all after using this product. I no longer feel like I have to hide my skin! I have rosacea and extremely sensitive skin. I’ve been using adapalene off and on again since 2022. So my skin is already used to adapalene. Now I’ve seen that you should mix azelic acid and adapalene. I tried the azelic acid and my skin lit on fire so when you go to try it make sure you start it very small sections. My skin burned for about a day and a half and even after I washed my skin it still burned and my skin are red for a good while. Make sure your moisture barrier is healed before you use this and make sure you have no active acne. ... show more
