I love this backpack! But it appears that I received a return. I don’t mind the mark or the writing on the logo. Those are cosmetic but the zipper is broken. The product tag was not attached. If it was just cosmetic, I wouldn’t be returning. The zipper is broken and this was an expensive purchase. I’m returning and ordering directly from North Face. Regarding the backpack, I love all the features- lots of pockets, etc. I’m not against refurbished products but think they should be sold as such.

If you’re a commuter you NEED this bag. I can fit my laptop. A college textbook, a notebook, and a pair of size 9.5 high heel shoes in it. There’s also compartments for my keys, makeup, wallet and phone. Side pockets for an umbrella and drink canister. When I run this bag ragged I’ll def be buying another one!

My daughter had a North Face backpack for 8 years that held up phenomenally well…all of HS and College. She wanted an update for Grad School, so we ordered this for Christmas thinking it was well worth the price. By mid-March it was tearing in multiple places. Too late to return, unfortunately. Very disappointing.

I bought this 1 month ago to replace my old surge (c.2016) where a zipper had broken, and its not nearly as good. It does not hold as much stuff, the zippers are sticky and difficult to zip, and one zipper pull already broke. Additionally, if you're larger than a size 4 forget about using the waist strap- it's so short! Overall, I miss my old backpack. If you need a large pack, this is not for you.

This has SO many pockets and places to put everything. The laptop sleeve is super cushy and padded, there is a little 3/4 pocket that is perfect for an IPad. The side pockets are big enough to hold a Nalgene bottle.
