I like using this bag for my trips to the Jiu Jitsu gym. It allows me to quickly change in/out clothes to get started for classes and compartmentalise things. I keep my gi (or no gi) on one half, and place my street clothes on the other + bike stuff if I’m riding to the gym. I can also stash my puffer jacket for the colder months. I keep a small first aid kit in the roof of the lid, a small tripod, mouth guard, and gi belt. My 40 oz bottle fits and is secure with the cord loop. The top pocket I keep for the small stuff like phone, wallet, keys, Tourniquet, etc. I did not like the flex of the bag so much, so I went to home depot and bought a sheet of polycarbonate, cut it to size and placed it in the laptop pouch. Adds little weight and now the bag doesn’t bend so weird on my back.

I bought this bag a couple years ago now and it is still, by far, one of my favorites. I took it for a one month trip around Europe, that along with a medium size purse and it worked perfectly. With this size of bag, that does take some planning. But it did not disappoint. My boyfriend is also now in love with it, after taking it for a one month trip to India. This is my go to bag now for pretty much all of my trips. This bag can also be scrunched up and stowed in a larger suitcase as a back up too for those who are big on picking up items from other places for gifts or for yourself and worry about running out of room. The only thing I wish it had, especially for the 1 month euro trip, were hip straps to take some of the load off and with at least one easy zipper pocket on that for your phone. Other than that, I can’t say enough good things about this design. It’s wonderful.
