  • One of the better fl studio books
Format: Paperback
I’m comparing this book with a handful of other fl studio books. This book has a nice 535 pages and actual pictures of the interface as it explains usage. Starts right off the bat with making a melody, which most people want to learn. And yes it mostly talks about the engineering aspects after that which is great as fl studio has so many effects and plugins that it’s really over the head of many beginners who just want to dabble in making tunes. So yeah this book is more explanatory of these types of things. With that said, its 100s of times better then the handful of fl studio books that basically explain the interface without a single picture. Most of these other fl studio books are very thin as well, usually less then 50 pages and either an oversized book with minimal pages or a small book with still minimal pages. So look at the other books and how many pages and do not buy them. Totally a waste of money. Also amazon needs to try to ship books undamaged, as a soft bound book, this was shipped with a creased cover, which is amazons shipping dept. and terrrible, but this book is great. ... show more

  • Everything you need to know about using FL Studio
Format: Paperback
This book is SUBSTANTIAL. Over 500 pages of text, along with relevant screenshots, covering every aspect of FL Studio 2025, from how to use all the stock instruments and effects to related subjects such as developing an online identity and publishing and monetizing your music online. A true one-stop volume for the aspiring producer. Includes a downloadable PDF version to load up on a second monitor for quick reference, which is a very nice touch. Only way they could make this book better would be to offer a ring-bound version to lay flat. ... show more

  • Fuzzy, unclear photos with no color.
Format: Paperback
Although there’s a lot of useful information barely any of the photos in this book are clear enough or in color at all. Of course, they offer a free PDF version with plenty of color and clarity ! Personally, I would have preferred to have clear and colorful photos in the book!!!

  • FL Studio 2025 Finally Has the Book It Deserves
Format: Paperback
Most FL Studio tutorials online teach you one trick at a time and leave you with a head full of techniques that never quite connect into a finished song. Joshua Au-Yeung took a different approach here and it shows on every page. The structure is the real win. You move from setting up your workspace all the way through distribution and royalty collection without ever feeling like chapters were written independently and stitched together. It flows like someone who actually finishes tracks taught it, not someone who just knows the software. The AI tools coverage is surprisingly practical. Stem extraction, vocal cleanup, AI chord generation, and FL Cloud mastering are all explained in context rather than treated like gimmicks. That matters because these tools are now part of real workflows and most books are still pretending they do not exist. Sound design and mixing chapters hit the right depth for intermediate producers. You are not getting a dictionary of every knob in every plugin. You are getting enough to make decisions and understand why they matter. The marketing and distribution section at the end is something most production books skip entirely. Covering branding, promotion, and royalty collection in the same book as compression and EQ shows Joshua understands that finishing a track is only half the job. If you are serious about FL Studio and tired of stitching together YouTube tutorials, buy this book and actually read it front to back. ... show more

  • Book taught me FL Studio where other outlets never could
Format: Paperback
I'd been messing around with FL Studio for a while, but never really felt like I knew what I was doing. I'd watch tutorials online, get confused, and end up going in circles. So, I figured I'd try a proper book instead and honestly, it is the best decision I made. This book walks you through everything step by step. It starts with the basics how to lay down a beat, how to write a melody and builds up from there. By the time I got through the mixing and mastering chapters, my tracks actually started sounding like something I'd want other people to hear. There's also a whole section on how to get your music out into the world how to put it on Spotify, how to make money from it, all that stuff. I had no idea where to start with any of that before reading this. It is a big book, but you don't have to read it cover to cover. Just go straight to whatever you need help with each part makes sense on its own. If you're just starting or feel like you've hit a wall with FL Studio, get this book. It's worth every penny. ... show more

  • Great All-in-One Guide for FL Studio Users
Format: Paperback
This book is a solid, practical guide to learning FL Studio from the ground up. It starts with the basics and gradually works into more advanced topics like mixing, sound design, and even publishing your music, so it feels like a complete roadmap rather than just a software manual. The explanations are clear and hands-on, making it easy to follow along and actually create tracks while you learn. It also covers newer features and modern workflows, which keeps it relevant. It’s fairly dense, so it works best as a reference you can come back to, but overall it’s a great resource for both beginners and intermediate users. ... show more
