  • Needed knowledge
Just a quick note about this book, 'The Kitchen Table Book'. I'm one who grew up with a grandmother, that was raised in the country and in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Dr's were either not available or came at a premium. Hence, a lot of 'cures' came from home remedies and basic nutrition. This book shows in detail the benefits from the foods and spices we normally consume. It fits very well with what my grandmother was raised with and what she imparted to us along the way. It is the kind of book that should be on every kitchen table and followed as to daily nutrition. By utilizing the knowledge found in these pages, one should be able to reduce the need for doctor visits, with the exception of catastrophic events. By understanding the health benefits for the various foods, most people should be able to maintain good health without the use of supplements and multiple, doctor-prescribed medications. This book is a great guide towards that goal. ... show more

  • Drugs No More
This book has so many interesting and informative uses for household/natural items to help you. It is just too bad that anything natural seems to need a disclaimer because it is not a medically approved cure (FDA). Chemicals were not meant to cure anything. The author lists studies done by Big Pharma to indicate why a natural method may not work. Personally I wish we could all use what we have instead of spending a fortune on medical items which all have the potential for horrendous side effects. My personal favorite side effects are constipation, diarrhea, and death. I am not thrilled with any of them!! This book has many wonderful ideas for you and your family. If you leave it on a table, your guests will want to read it. ... show more

  • Some new , some we knew
I found their comments helpful , and straight forward. Some of them we had heard in the past but forgotten, others are new, and I don't know if all will work , but they could save us money. Like cleaning the toilet bowl with vinegar, but yogurt for a facial. Several interesting pages, will they all work I doubt it, but it is interesting reading. ... show more

  • Will Surprise You When You See How Ordinary Foods Can Make You Healthier....
I bought two copies of this book, one for my daughter and one for myself. From the very first page you'll be hooked in; there are surprising therapeutic uses for pretty much every staple you have in your pantry and fridge. I took the time to research several of the items that were recommended and found substantial documentation to back up the recommendations, medical abstracts & studies etc. I am not a fan of books that pimp supplements or vits or certain alleged superfoods that are based on he-said/she-said non-factual hype. You can rely on what you read here and put it to use to make yourself & your family healthier, happier. HIGHLY recommended~ ... show more

  • Strange things
Some things CS are good to try I this book, but unfortunately it will fool the gullible. I bought this for my mother-in-law because she asked for it. I’m not sure it’s a good book for someone who believes everything she reads.

  • This book is filled with ways to save money and use everyday ingredients
I really like this book. It is filled with every day household items being used in unique ways. Prices for every thing seem so high these days, I thought I would try the book and save a few dollars. The section for the use of honey has some excellent suggestions and the ones used were successful. This section is not for children, only adults. I have rosacea and found from the book that oatmeal is a natural treatment. I feel I will save the price of the book many times over and in the process use safer and less harsh ingredients. ... show more
