At first we though the book was broken because there is a button on the back of the book the says press for sound, which didn't work even after switching the power to on. My daughter asked if she could please open the first door just too see if it worked since we thought it was broken and low and behold the sound worked! Soooooo disappointed!!!!! This is a joke. There’s nothing of any value. Every day is either a just a quote of Bob’s, a recording of him saying a sentence or a cheap piece of flimsy cardboard that they call a “ornament”. Total waste. My 11 year old that loves Bob Ross was so disappointed about how cheesy and cheap this was. I get her a Advent Calendar every year and this is by FAR the cheapest, most disappointing one I’ve ever seen. It’s a total joke and a disgrace to Bob Ross. Pathetic, greedy people praying off of a good person’s legacy. It really is pathetic. There isn’t $2.00 worth of anything in this!!!!!! ... show more

Sadly this was a waste of money. It’s a nice idea and I personally am a big Bob Ross fan, but this product is poor quality, lame, and cheap. Most of the days in this advent calendar are quotes printed on the thing. The “ornaments” included are cheap pieces of paper on gold string. The “activities” advertised are all printed ideas that would require you to go buy products and, frankly, they are obvious / common holiday activity ideas. For example, one says to go buy a gingerbread house kit and make a Bob Ross-inspired gingerbread cabin. I didn’t need to buy an advent calendar to read Bob Ross quotes and activity ideas. This should be as advertised and include small items to use in activities and the ornaments should be nicer and made out of longer lasting materials. ... show more

While bob ross is inspirational, I don’t think i realized that there wouldn’t be much in the way of tangible items for my daughter to open. The doors open and some are just quotes, a few are recordings of bob ross speaking and a smaller number are thin glossy cardboard ornaments. I think there could have been more to it. Delivered promptly but sound didn't work and a few of the doors had been opened. Started return process and requested replacement. Second one was delivered yesterday and the sound buttondoesn't work. This is disappointing because it should have more actual things that are art activities to do or actual bob ross collectibles. I have watched every episode of his show. As an artist I was very disappointed. As a fan, There are just so many fun things that could be done with this and the opportunity was definitely missed by a huge amount. I would not recommend this to any bob ross fan. I think bob ross would be disappointed in it as well. I can watch him paint for free online and hear him. He sounds like he is in space. The box it comes in seems like it holds really fun things in it. And it does not, just printed words. It said activities ornaments, and more, so far there are no activities to do and one paper ornament, It is not worth buying unfortunately. ... show more

This was a gift for a teen girl who is a huge Bob Ross fan. The item exterior is made of quality materials but there are not really any treats or prizes like a traditional advent calendar. The calendar’s daily rewards are mostly quotes, sound bytes, DIY activity suggestions (no materials included…not really exciting) and an occasional paper (not sturdy or high quality) ornament. The recipient “likes” it, but next to her sister’s similarly priced makeup advent calendar where everyday provides a tangible gift, it’s ultimately lackluster as an advent calendar. ... show more
