Wow! Excellent Adventure!
Format: Kindle
This is an amazing adventure story. It is full of magic, interesting characters, intrigue and danger. It is also full of family and friendships. The main character is a 15 year old boy. He is a quiet, hardworking, thoughtful character and the story unfolds from his perspective. Adventure and magic find him though, and it makes for some very exciting chapters! I can’t wait to read the next book to see what awaits him. ... show more

Quirky, lyrical, enjoyable Lit-RPG
Format: Kindle
This book has a quirky, lyrical pace I've never seen in Lit-RPG books. Descriptive metaphors are cleverly worded, giving an extra dimension the world's setting, but without being cloying or getting in the way of the story's natural unfolding. As a result, the story is richly textured, yet easily absorbed and enjoyed. I look forward to reading the next book. ... show more

New and engaging
Format: Kindle
Quite a twist on the dungeon running trope. Good to see new ideas and interesting characters. Well worth your time

Well crafted and developed story
Format: Kindle
While not usually a fanof the LitRPG motif of storytelling this story is a real story with a bit of the System and all its works. Not central to the story which is a relief. Plenty of magic and such. Different back story from most of this genre. Well developed characters with plenty of facets that are made apparent throughout. Not a flat story but one with depth. Looking forward to the next story. ... show more

A Warm book.
Format: Kindle
A Book of well written characters. This book is full of warmth and hope and love and it is the beginning of what I think will be an amazing series, there's also a cat. . .

A joyous delight for lovers of cozy worldbuilding in a delightful high-fantasy setting
Format: Kindle
So, being a nerd that loves LitRPG writing, I figured this wouldn't be anything new. How wrong I was. There is something *special* here with this. The descriptions of places and the feelings it evokes are an absolute delight. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest as a kid, the sense of the woods and the weather, the warmth of the Crossroads, of leaving the safety of what you thought was home when you were still a child... all of that's here. There's a few typos in the story, some squirrely punctuation mistakes here and there, but don't let it detract you from reading this. The world this book shapes is a delight, and it's officially on my short list of books I have finished, seen the notice for the sequel at the end, and immediately gone "Well, where is it?" because at the time of this writing, the second book isn't out yet. This book just... makes me happy, and excited, and, if the author may be reading this review, forgive the potentially excessive comparison. The vibe here is akin to reading Mercedes Lackey's work. This is 'Herald of Valdemar' and 'Arrows' sub-series worthy. A story that makes me hungry for the sequel, and a tale that I will be re-reading for many years to come. ... show more

fun
Format: Kindle
It was a fun easy read. A little corny at times but still very worth the read. It’s quick, easy and entertaining.
