I bought these for my Neighbor for his dog to try because he wasn't sure what to feed is dog who was being picky about eating and he didn't have an Amazon account. His dog loved them. My two little chihuahuas LOVE this pate, Chicken and Super Greens! I use this for 1/2 their daily meals and HK Base Mix w/ HK boxed chicken for the other 1/2. There are MANY reviews about smell. Read the ingredients list folks. It has salmon oil which smells like FISH. As for opening the box, seriously what is the big deal? Use a pair of scissors and open the box. Takes SECONDS. I cannot believe how many negative reviews are on here for the Pate meals! I am SO thankful for the Honest Kitchen!! No more home cooking, HK does it for me. As for cost complaints, you are getting HIGH END, HUMAN GRADE dog food. THEY are doing the cooking for me. So yes, there is a labor cost associated here. I purchased this for the confidence of feeding my tiny senior chihuahua i the morning so I can drink my coffee in peace. She loves it and eats it all up. It’s a bit pricey for my budget but so far I think I may be hooked on the product because she’s small and I make it last three days. I feed her other food for lunch and dinner. I tried this for an older chihuahua who struggles with hard kibble. She loved the food, as much as other frozen and refrigerated varieties that cost more, but each time she ate it a few hours later she would throw up. My dog has seizures and after trying different foods for him I was so desperate. I spent hours researching and looking at the ingredient lists from different brands. I came across the honest kitchen. My dog has been on this brand for almost a year and he has not gotten a seizure since changing his diet. He is on keto but no grains or carbs for him at all and with this he loves this food so much! My husband and I love this brand as well and he is very picky when it comes to food and the only thing my Max does not like is the dry food but I mean he’s so used to wet foods I don’t judge my pup since dry kibble was making him get seizures. I love the packaging. I ordered 2 casess that consist of individual packs in each. The results with my Shih-Tzu Bella Courtney were surprisingly not good. At first she liked it, then she began vomiting and a has very bad case of diarrhea after eating it each time. I disposed of the portion left in her dish. I tried again the next day, and the same results.... a trail of diarrhea & vomiting happened again. She does not use the bathroom in the home, but it releases so quick and you can tell she's embarrassed with the look she gives and her whining and coughing with it. No she didn't have this problem before. This is my Bellas experiences with it, it may be good for your pet but for her it's a no go. I'm left with a case plus 2 individuals packs. I've thrown away more than she's consumed. The last small dog PORTION, I just flushed down the toilet. She smelled it this time and walked away. Thank God I didn't toss her regular dog food, I finally put both out and she avoided it and went to her regular food and ate. Since then, NO diarrhea nor vomiting. My mini Dachshund is spoiled from too many treats from my co-workers. Yes, she works with me, and, yes, she’s exceedingly spoiled. I wish I had half the money I’ve spent on expensive dog foods that went in the disposal because she turned up her tiny nose at them. I was shocked when I mixed the Honest Kitchen Butcher Block Pate with her current brand of canned food. She gobbled it up like she was starving!! I can’t wait until she’s completely switched to Honest Kitchen. We will try the Honest Kitchen stews next. Trust is extremely important to any pet lover and I’m thankful for Honest Kitchen products!
