Our Pups are in Food Nirvana! They absolutely love Their Honest Kitchen meals! When its time to eat they are as so excited... Its like how I get when I order a Double Double Animal Style at In N Out Burger. We have two young Frenchies and an older Maltese. All 3 been fine dining on Honest Kitchen food for 6 months now. We prepare it with hot water and mix it up like oatmeal (which is great as I will explain in a moment). Our frenchie Jax was the biggest concern before we found the HK food option.... food allergies, rashes, kibble regurgitation, bowel issues..... you name it, it was no fun for Jax. He started on the "Grain Free" version of HK 6 months back. Everything is good! No rashes, no getting sick, normal bowels.... its like he's a new man. He's happy, and you know the french aren't always the happiest people. Cooper, our 1 yr old frenchie loves it. At 9 months he was a bit of load.... 6 months later he looks like Chris Hemsworth with an under bite! Chloe our 13 yr old Maltese could care less about eating her whole life. She only only cared about looking pretty. Well even fashion models get old...The last few years its been harder for her to eat because it hurts her teeth. On the Honest Kitchen she has become a foodie. In fact, when its time to eat, just get out of her way or you'll lose a finger! She did not do any of the following things for 12 years...but now, oh my god, she's annoying.... Barking to tell us that it's time to eat at the exact time each day (She will come and find me in my office and stare at me); Licking her bowl for a good 5 minutes after she's finished; Checking the other dogs bowls and licking them: going back to her bowl and licking it again. If she had an Amazon Prime acct we would be in serious trouble! The best thing is that the Honest Kitchen smells like Thanksgiving Dinner! I actually get hungry when I make their Honest Kitchen meals, which is a far cry from dry heaving whenever we had to feed them wet food from the can. Honest Kitchen is like Thanksgiving Oatmeal. Maybe that's what the should name one of their flavors! It may cost a bit more than other options but after all these are your fur babies. Keep them happy and healthy but do yourself a favor and get rid of the metal dog bowls or all the licking will sound like a really bad band is in your laundry room (Thats where Chloe eats)! ... show more

I love Honest Kitchen!! I honestly can't say enough good stuff about them! Honest Kitchen has been SO USEFUL for me as a dog breeder and dog owner as well... when I have Dams who are turning up their noses to their boring kibble and wanting for something more! It has helped me to keep weight on my Moms like this and also a couple runt puppies who needed to gain weight but couldn't fight off all the other puppies for moms nipples. I've used it when Mom decided to wean her puppies a little early at 3 1/2 - 4 wks because she just had too many... 11 puppies and only 6 nipples and they'd drag her down almost when she tried to let them all nurse.. so I put them all on Honest Kitchen mixed with kibble, just a scoop of goats milk powder and I add a little Honest Kitchen's beef bone broth and they stayed super fat and healthy and they licked the bowl clean - since they didn't have teeth yet! A LITTLE also goes a VERY LONG WAY! I add a couple cups of their normal kibble, one cup of Honest kitchen and I can feed 11 puppies for two feedings. Too thick? Just add more warm water. You can also pre-make it and then refrigerate it to make for a quick and easy prep... for their next feeding, Just add a little more warm water and mix it up so its soft and mushy again. When you're feedingna litter of puppies 3 to 4 times a day.. fast and easy prep , NO BLENDER NEEDED- tops my list of importance!! I ALSO LOVE how nutritious it is for all our babies and adults!! I feel really confident and good about the quality of care and in the healthy diet I'm providing when I'm feeding them honest kitchen!! its HONESLTY THE BEST!! IF you have not tried it yet with your picky dogs or puppies... do not delay! Get it today!! I got nothing to say but YEAH!!! Haha! OK, maybe ignore my attempts at a rhyming review! ... show more

My dogs LOVE this food. They get so excited at meal time now. Even my picky eater. I mix this with a scoop of their kibble (after I hydrated ) and they eat it super fast. Would definitely recommend.

My dogs seem to love this food, the only bad thing Is I have 4 dogs to feed and they are of different sizes. One large box doesn’t last one week for them. It’s says it’s 10lbs and with water added to it makes it 40lbs. Not happening.

My dogs love this! I have tried other freeze-dried foods that they didn't like, and I was surprised at how much they liked this! The ingredients are human-grade, and the quality is good. It is very easy to reconstitute with hot tap water. The instructions aren't very clear about the ideal food-to-water ratio, but I usually add a little more water than food and let it sit to thicken. Don't let the size of the box fool you. The 10-pound box makes about 40 pounds of food, which, cost-wise, makes this a premium dog food.     • Puppy with nonstop diarrhea before verses after this food

I have a 15 week old puppy that we got at 7 1/2 weeks old. For about five weeks she was having nonstop diarrhea and really nasty smelling and frequent farting. We couldn't figure out what was wrong, we had her on blue Buffalo dry kibble, and had tried some canned foods as well, and her tests for worms came back negative. So I was on the search for the healthiest dog food I can find, and that's what I came across the turkey version of this at Whole Foods, even though she always ate her meal, she always ate it really slow, but I heard that a lot of Huskies are like that so I wasn't too concerned. Once we started mixing this food with her other food, I have never seen her so excited about mealtime. Now when I'm in the process of mixing it she cries out in excitement. And it finally happened, her stools got solid, and her farts slowed down and weren't as stinky. The only problem I have with this food is how expensive it is for how short of time it lasts, we ended up running out of this food, and didn't have enough money at the time to buy more of it, so we had to bring her back to the normal dry kibble. She still ate it, but you could tell the excitement was gone, and it didn't take too long until the diarrhea came back, and the frequent stinky farts came full blown. As soon as payday rolled around, I went on Amazon to see if I can find it cheaper, although it was around the same price, there was that subscribe and save feature for this chicken one that was a little cheaper than the turkey (we actually like the chicken one better than the turkey, even though she likes both, the chicken seems to mix better with water versus the turkey one which looked more liquidy so you couldn't get as much out of it ). We were all excited when it finally came to the house, and sure enough her stools are solid again and her farts are less stinky… Again. To help save money, we've noticed that she's doing just fine when we're mixing the two foods together, not sure how that works but it does. So we are giving her about half a cup of the dehydrated food mixed with water, then mixed with some kibble, she is so obsessed, she even tries to lick her bowl CLEAN when she's done, and likes to lick the spoon I am sturring it together with before she eats. There was even a point when we didn't have anymore of the dehydrated food for over a week, and I was baking something so I put water in a bowl with flour and started mixing, Our little husky came running in the kitchen and crying thinking we were making her some food, LOL, that's when I really started looking into buying her the food again, she really missed it. So bottom line, if you have a puppy that's been having nonstop diarrhea or visible digestion problems, really try this food. And if you're on a tight budget like we are, it still seems to work when you mix the two foods together, just obviously less of both. ... show more

    • Truly unsatisfactory food and no refund?

We purchased both dog food and cat food. One cat refused to eat it, the other younger cat have been eating it as did our dogs Horrible news there’s something wrong with this dog and cat food as our cat that was eating it has completely broken out in hives and is ripping her fur out and scratching and a bloody mess and our dogs are now red with irritated skin itching and chewing all their fur, especially on their back ends, and you can’t get a refund on this, which appalls me The one who had refused to eat, it has been on her regular cat food and does not have the skin problems like my other three fur babies do I understand about not returning it, but I want a refund. I spent a lot of money on this dog and cat food and other treats from this company. I suggest to use great caution with your fur babies, and this so-called wholesome healthy human grade food because art animals are suffering ... show more
