This has been my favorite technique book for my piano students several years now. All the basics are covered: Scales, chords (block and broken), progressions and chromatics in all 12 keys. One suggestion for a revised edition: sequence the cycle of fifths in a ccontinuous direction clockwise around the 12 keys rather than clockwise with sharps interrupted with counterclockwise with flats. ... show more

This book delivers on what is advertised, a book with scales. It is nicely done. The only improvement might be to have a spiral binding, but then I suppose the cost would necessarily increase.

This is my favorite scale book as it covers all the scale types - major, minor, harmonic and melodic. It also shows all the chord and arpeggios in all the inversions and the fingerings. Other books don't and you have to instead buy multiple level editions to get what this provides in one book.

Just what expected after our classically trained piano teacher asked that we purchase. Looks like many years of scale training ahead. We received 2 identical books for the lowest price - not sure why but we will keep the extra.
