  • Epic love story! 🖤🖤
Format: Paperback
How did I not immediately write my rave review for this book??? I feel SO in love with these characters, with their love, with their passion and commitment and journey. Gah it was truly consuming. It felt so good to dive into a truly beautiful love story while at the same time getting a back story for characters that I already knew. It made the world so much richer! I honestly could’ve read 300 more pages just about how much they loved each other. Memnon is 🔥and 🖤 and 💀and 🗡️and ❤️. Roxi is 🥀 and ❤️ and ✨ and ❤️🔥 and 🐈⬛ Now just please can we get the next book??? ... show more

  • Obsessed with memnon!
Format: Kindle
The Curse that Binds by Laura Thalassa. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Audiobook was good. I’d give the narrator 4 out of 5 stars. Good voice, fit the girl. Could have been a little more animated but overall good job. Male maybe 3 out of 5. The scene he narrated could have been more passionate. I listened a little faster than normal because I thought the pacing a little slow. My heart was pounding and I needed to get into it!! Now the story. I am OBSESSED with Memnon. This book was really good!! This is the first book I have read from this series. I received a copy of the audiobook, and it said prequel so I went for it. I HAVE to know what happens next. After writing this I will download Bewitched. The story was gripping from the beginning. At first I thought the dialogue was a little bland, but honestly it was just because the characters were so young. The older they got the better everything was!! It was like being in the relationship with them. Roxi was really awesome once she started using her powers. She was sweet but also badass and I loved her. Now Memnon. Ummm I pictured Khal Drogo and the Dothraki from GOT while I was reading. I have no idea how I haven’t heard of this series before. He is one of the best book boyfriends I have ever read. Utterly obsessed with roxi, he lets it be known constantly and I melt!!!! His love never wavered and I’m just so sad at what has happened and I have so many questions! I can’t wait to keep reading. I’m intrigued that the first book takes place 2000 years later. Like what happened to Roxilana?!? What is going on! The only thing I didn’t care for was the repetitive battle scenes. But I didn’t mind them in the end bc roxi and memnon had some great moments post battle lol. Read this book! ... show more

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The Curse That Binds by Laura Thalassa (Bewitched #2.5) Roxi and Memnon's origin story is soooo good!!! I loved getting this in-depth look at where they each came from, how they met, and all the events leading up to the beginning of Bewitched. Laura Thalassa did not disappoint with the spice! The spice is exactly what I expected from these two characters. 🥵🤌🏻 💚WHO HURT YOU? ✨Witch x Sorcerer 💚Touch her & 💀 ✨Fated mates 💚War and curses ✨They'll burn the world for each other ... show more

  • Loved
Format: Paperback
A prequel of book one. I was hesitant to read this only because it was released after I read book one and two, hence, I knew what the ending would be. However, the character's history was masterfully done, and it added a dimension to Roxilana’s/Selene's and Memnon's characters. As for the love between the characters, it was the heart of the book; without a doubt it was the core of this story. This book had a deeper emotional resonance than book one and two. ... show more

  • Unexpected pleasure
Format: Kindle
I gave this 5 stars bc as a rule I have a tendency to hate prequels, but loved this story. For me, the love of a story is the ending, and a well written path there. So knowing the ending is almost sacrilege, and not worth it. That being said, I love just about everything LT has written and downloaded this book before noticing it was a prequel. I just loveeee the timeless love story between Roxi and Mannon that spans thousands of years. While I wasn’t stoked about it being a prequel their love story is one i cherish, so I powered through and am glad I did. It’s adorable. Cheers to anyone to wants to join in a reading this indomitable duo. 💕 ... show more

Long time LT fan! Long time Bewitched fan! I absolutely adore the world and characters she’s created. It was lovely to get background on a story I’ve loved for years, answering questions like “how did it come to this,” “what’s the bigger picture,” and even “was he always this cunning?” Yes, he was always this cunning. I almost wish that I had amnesia myself because I would love to read this unapologetically as a first book, but I also don’t know because I have read the other books within the series. If I would’ve stayed with it like I stayed with bewitched and I think that’s mostly because I know what is going to happen and I was dreading the ending because I know, but there is something to be said in the built-up to witnessing the event itself happen. I want to rate this a 5 star read because it was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, but the problem that I personally found myself with is hesitating to read it for long periods of time because I know what was happening/going to happen and also, because some of it felt so long or unneeded. There were several times during the book itself that I sat there and was like “is this really necessary to move on?” And yeah, some of it was but other parts I feel like dragged on a little bit too much or didn’t really give me the information that I wanted but information that was probably beneficial instead. In the end, I feel like the times that I felt that it was dragging on rather than actually moving and propelling, and the way that her other books in the series have been propelled is information that is too important to remove but more so my anxiety surrounding the ending of the story. I’m rating at four stars because I love the author and I love the characters and that has not changed but what I wanted was my anxiety to go away so I could focus on my love for these characters more. It is hard to say whether or not I would love the story as fiercely as I do if I were to start with this one rather than how I originally read it, but I really do recommend the series and you can ask all my friends. I don’t stop screaming from the rooftops about how amazing of a writer she is! ... show more
