This is a nice book but it will take a lot of supervision for the beginning chef. My great-grandson is 5 and helps his mom bake bread and cookies, so I hope he will enjoy this book with his mom.

My 13-year-old loves this cookbook, so now she is in the kitchen trying new recipes almost every weekend she has a shopping list for me to go get so she can try out her new recipes. I love the fact that they break everything down for kids to understand and walk them through it step by step so they feel like they're doing it completely on their own but can also ask for help if they have any questions. ... show more

I got this along with the cooking book for my kids for Christmas. My 10 year old has tried a bunch of recipes and each one has turned out so well. He loves the challenge of trying to do it without asking for my help and the recipes are simple so he usually accomplishes his goal of making delicious food without needing help. Each recipe is simple and easy to follow and is laying a foundation of good, solid basics.
