We’ve been using the Cold Pod Ice Bath for recovery after workouts, and it works really well at keeping the water cold for a good amount of time. The size and design are convenient, making it easy to fill, drain, and carry around. The insulation does a solid job, and it’s more comfortable than using a traditional tub or bucket. Plus, it’s portable enough to take with us when traveling. The only thing we wish is that we had purchased the optional cooling add-on. Having active cooling would extend the cold temperature for longer sessions without needing to add extra ice constantly, which would be a real game-changer for longer or repeated use. I bought a different brand of one of these tub things years ago back when things were still made pretty well. It sprung a leak a few months ago. Let me tell you I had to order five different ones to get one of good quality, and this was the keeper. I wanted a deep tub for soaking with (hot) water, most of the ones they make today are very short, and have poor support. This one was great. Is it more pricey than some? Yeah, but you get what you pay for. Really the only way to improve this thing would be to make the supports metal but I don't think it's necessary, they use really strong PVC piping. For reference, I am 5'9'', 25BMI, and it could fit two of me comfortably, three of me if we wanted to cuddle a bit. The water will reach my neck when I am sitting if I choose to fill it up to the top. Pure bliss.

The "soft sides" kinda collapse easily, even when filled with water. I've been in actual inflatable pods (not just the top ring) that give a sturdier feel to them. The inflatable top ring is NOT formed correctly to be on this unit. When you inflate it, there are odd "kinks" on the top ring that come when you force an inflatable object that is formed to be straight to sit on something that is curved. If I had to guess, I got a unit that was rushed to production to either keep up with demand, or to relieve back-orders, because it doesn't setup as nice as the picture shows, with a nice, curved profile for the top ring. A gripe; You have no choice but to run the supply tubes for the chiller over the top, which means that if you're using a chiller, the top won't sit/seal well. Many other units offer supply/return spigots built into the side to allow a more streamlined unit. Just a gripe, the picture didn't show that it had them when I bought, but for the money, I don't see why a few dollars in PVC fittings couldn't have been included. While this may be an entry-to-mid level unit, for what it is (A medium sized piece of vinyl shaped to hold water), I still don't think there's anything remotely approaching $197 in material, workmanship or design here. This may be a "pop-up" manufacturer, looking to cash in on the craze, and fold-up shop once the $$ is made, but only time will tell. The unit holds water, and the chiller (purchased separately) keeps the temperature, so I have no choice but to say "It works...". The rest here forces me to say, "...but."

Easy to set up and well built. This pod is sturdy for its intended purpose, I'm sure if you abuse it, it wouldn't last as long. Maintains temperature really well and the cover is great. I have already drained and moved it once and it was super easy to move. I'm 6'0" and this larger size fits me perfectly, I can sit all the way down and it gets up to my shoulders. I don't know if the smaller size would have fit as well. Overall, very happy with this purchase and I would highly recommend!
