My granddaughter tends to get cold, and she wore this to school practically every day between the first of October through the middle of April. It kept her comfortable and warm, and she had no trouble with the buttons at all. She's a rough player in spite of being so small, but it held up very well. In fact, it's still in good enough shape to give away to another child at the uniform exchange this year. It comes in all the common school uniform colors, so I was able to get one that complied with her school dress code and looked nice with her uniform. The pockets are pretty roomy but don't gape open. In fact, we found out she had been carrying a medal of a saint in her pocket all year and it never fell out! I'm definitely ordering her another one this year.
