I remembered watching this broadcast originally on PBS when I was little and was so happy to find it on DVD. I never watched the American produced version of the Borrowers but had fond memories of the BBC version. Since this is only available (as far as I could find) in Region 2 and 4 format I knew that I'd need a work around. I purchased an inexpensive external DVD drive: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MJW5BXZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and once I plugged it into my computer I was able to go in the settings/properties and change the region code for the player. *NOTE* this can only be done 4 times before you will be locked out and whatever setting you last used will be the permanent setting. So I chose to sacrifice this particular DVD player and plan to only use it to view Region 2 DVDs *END NOTE* Once I did this I was able to play this Region 2 DVD no problem with my external DVD drive on my computer using VLC. And it's just as I remember. SO happy to have this in my collection. ... show more

Timeless classic I love it! It does not play on my xbox due to the reason it's a different region which is stated clearly for viewers who do not know much about tech. But it plays on my computer!!! The quality other reviewers complain about is rubbish. Remember this was made long before all this high tech special effects and blue rays hd crap. If you want to see a true classic the same as it was when I was a child watching this on VHS and if you enjoy BBC than this is perfect for you :) the seller was great it came in perfect condition and on time I have no complaints at all! ... show more

I was excited to finally purchase this after I had upgraded to a region free bluray player and was not disappointed. Even with the quality being what you would expect from when it aired on TV, I am pleased to be able to watch this iconic miniseries and was excited to introduce my partner to it as well ... show more

YOU CANNOT WATCH IN USA! I don't know if we missed this on the description, but when we put the DVD into three different players (including a computer, DVD, PS4) we received the same encrypted error code -- this are only available to view in Europe. Super unfortunate because we were so excited when we received the DVDs! ... show more

In my opinion this is the best version of the borrowers, if you want a version that is accurate to the books. My local library had a copy of this on VHS and I was very happy to find it on DVD. It's too bad that this disc is not available in the states. I managed to bypass the region restrictions by using MakeMKV to copy the video off of the disc to make my backup copy. I did not know dvd’s are locked into regions. BEWARE! this dvd is NOT for the U.S. unless you play it on your laptop with a special “region” decoder.

I love love love this series! I used to watch it on VHS as a child and I am so glad I found it here on DVD.
