  • Great book. Obviously for beginners! Duh!
I'm confused about some of the reviews here...Duh it's for novices, but it's also for individuals that are deep into investing that HAVE been doing their taxes wrong. Not all CPAs are created the same. The book was to provide basic knowledge and a few neat tricks to investors. It was very simply to follow, and if you had the audible, it was well paced and most importantly not boring. I usually read all my books at 1.25/1.5, so it flowed well. Definitely recommended for individuals that aren't too savvy with taxes and would like more information so that when they visit a CPA they'd understand the lingo, but also would be better at filtering the CPAs knowledge too. The found the "real life" scenarios summed up strategies well and provided how the individual got themselves in the situation and how knowing Strategy would get them out. No complaints there. Great read 📚 I'm about to start the Advanced Tax Strategy book. Hopefully it's the same. ... show more

  • The Perfect High Level Intro
Format: Paperback
I've been a CPA for 20 years, and also invest in real estate. I picked up this book as much out of curiosity as anything else. It is perhaps one of the best written books for the non-practitioner out there. If you are new to real estate investing, this is a MUST read. While you likely can't prepare a Schedule E off the book, you will get good advice on what to discuss with your tax preparer and how best to document and look for deductions. The book is written in normal English, using stories instead of code sections. There's not a ton of numbers, but there are a ton of useful tips and principles that anyone can follow...especially if you hate taxes. Even the experienced investor or practitioner may pick up a few tips along the way. I did. A great addition to the library. ... show more

  • Easy read and gives solid foundation
Overall a well written book. Touches on a lot of different topics from basic deduction such as mileage to the deeper strategies of tax savings such as self administrated Ira's. To me it lacked a little deeper insights into how many of these strategies work, which to be fair the book never promised. Overall well worth the read for those starring out investing in real estate be they flippers or buying to rent. ... show more

  • I read about 10 Tax Real Estate Books Last Year This was my Favorite
Format: Kindle
I have an accounting degree but work in software. Bought my first AirBNB - great book for real estate. Now I have to find a good Tax Advisor/CPA who specializes in Real Estate.

  • Educate Yourself and Acquire a Permanent Reference Book
I started late in real estate investing once I learned, through renting my elderly mother's house, how lucrative it could be with income and tax breaks. Now I have three properties and I needed more information about Starker exchanges and how to approach various situations that have tax implications. This book is substantive, well-organized and detailed. For instance, it provides excellent clarity and depth in addressing repairs versus improvements, a complex tax topic. I have highlighted text throughout the book and when I prepare my taxes, it will sit right by my side. Highly recommended. ... show more

This book is written by two awesome people who know the ins and outs of the tax code well enough to write a book in common man’s terms. This is the Rich Dad Poor Dad of understanding real estate tax concepts. Easy read and packed full of helpful information your local tax advisor has yet to learn themselves! ... show more
