  • A wholesalers bible plus two other BP publications
One can only begin to imagine the possibilities within the real estate industry especially once you understand how to play the game! Brandon really offers a TRUE guide to creative investing strategies that make sense in today's economic climate! Especially since I'm in the Southern California market where 3bd/ 2ba 1500-2000sq ft homes average in the $600k-$1m!!!!, I'm happy I found out about Bigger Pockets 😅😅😅 I found chapter 9 to be my favorite because I plan on enter real estate using the wholesale strategy! I've purchase plenty of other books and education on the subject but never once did I "feel" confident in the information that I received from those resources until I stumbled onto this book If you are looking for a crash coarse, step by step, no filler, engaging read then buy this book along with, "The book on estimated rehab cost & The Flipping Book" {Both books are written by J.Scott and compliment this book} No matter what your background there are ample of strategies one can utilize today! After reading this book and knowing that I have two other books to study, I can no longer make the excuse of not knowing what to do! I will update this post after I receive,y first assignment check or close my first deal, BE ON THE LOOKOUT ... show more

  • Great book for people getting in REI
Bigger Pockets is a great forum and this book is a nice culmination of the topics that it talks about. It doesn't try to sell you any one idea or the other but explains all of them thoroughly to you, with both the pros and the cons. It gives you examples and some personal anecdotes of Brandon himself to make following it easier. It really opens up your perspective of how you can really invest without using as much of your money as you thought you will. However the theme with this book is that you have to do your homework and be able to bring what you've learned to the table. And this makes perfect sense. I also like the references to specific pages on Bigger Pockets that go more into detail with different analyses. ... show more

  • Great information...but:
Would-be real estate investors will learn a wealth of information in this well-written book. Several tools are laid out for you, and while some are a bit technical, the author uses plain English examples to make otherwise confusing tips and processes come to life. Unfortunately, all great real estate deals rely on the initial seller getting a poor price for their property. Spin it any way you wish ("Clarence sold his home to a wholesaler and escaped the double mortgage payments that were drowning him!" He did, but got 60% of his home's value.), you cannot make money in real estate without somebody else losing money. Sure, there's the house flipping strategy where you buy cheap and restore the property, but even that's a situation where the seller loses because they can't afford the repairs themselves. To the author's credit, he recommends strictly ethical practices, finding "great deals" notwithstanding. There are certainly a number of dirty tricks that allow a savvy person to take advantage of those with meager means or poor credit. The author warns sternly against these, and gives some genuinely useful advice for creatively investing without fleecing those who are down on their luck. It is worth mentioning that the author seems genuinely motivated to teach, rather than trying to make his fortune by selling you and endless string of books to teach you how to make yours. Most of the additional resources mentioned are free, and other books mentioned are usually written by other authors. As with any investment, there are numerous hazards and pitfalls; perhaps more here due to the "no or low money down" approach. But, the author does identify these, and gives appropriate words of warning. Anybody can creatively invest in real estate, but it is clear that not everybody should. ... show more

  • 100% recommend
Format: Paperback
I absolutely love the way of writing Brandon does. It's easy to read, also when you're not English native speaker. Definitely recommend the book, some information is quite obvious but it's good to have it written somewhere and follow certain steps to be successful.
