This book is a compendium of all the best Jazz Piano pieces that have been produced by Hal Leonard books. It also contains many pieces that I have not found in any of their other books which is exactly the reason I purchased this book. The 314 pages lie flat making it easy to use the book on your keyboard stand. What is important is that the scores in this book are the classic scores you would expect. The melodies are perhaps the closest you can find that are written for piano. This is not a real book, but a complete note-for-note presentation of chords and melody that you would expect in a professional book. I can only say that if you are studying piano jazz or want to play any of the pieces I listed below, then this is the book to purchase. It replaces at least a dozen other books that have a scattering of these pieces. If only this book were available to me 5 years ago. If you really want to check this book out, it is on Scribd at this link (you can read the notes, but cannot download it): [...] For your review, I have supplied the scores in the book below: The Best Jazz Piano Solos Ever Hal Leonard Page 6 Afternoon In Paris Page 10 Allen’s Alley Page 14 Along Came Betty Page 19 Azure-Te Page 22 Back Home Blues Page 26 Bags And Trane Page 29 Bags’ Groove Page 32 Baia Page 37 Bernie’s Tune Page 41 Billie’s Bounce Page 44 Birdland Page 49 Birk’s Works Page 52 Close Your Eyes Page 57 Blues For Martha Page 61 Blues In A Minor Page 65 Blues In The Closet Page 69 Born To Be Blue Page 73 Bouncing With Bud Page 77 Bremond’s Blues Page 81 C-Jam Blues Page 86 Come Sunday Page 87 Cotton Tail Page 94 Crazeology Page 98 Day Dream Page 101 Doodlin’ Page 104 Dear Old Stockholm Page 108 Delauney’s Dilemma Page 112 Django Page 116 Dolphin Dance Page 120 Don’t You Know I Care Page 124 Doxy Page 128 Everything But You Page 132 52nd Street Theme Page 136 Giant Steps Page 141 The Golden Striker Page 146 Ginger Bread Boy Page 150 Gotta Be This Or That Page 154 Gravy Waltz Page 158 Groovin’ High Page 163 In Walked Bud Page 166 I Hear A Rhapsody Page 170 I Mean You Page 174 Intermezzo Page 177 Killer Joe Page 180 Invitation Page 184 Jeru Page 190 Jordu Page 194 Like Young Page 197 My Little Suede Shoes Page 202 Line For Lyons Page 206 Midnight Sun Page 210 Moonlight In Vermont Page 214 Moten Swing Page 218 Nica’s Dream Page 225 A Night In Tunisia Page 230 Night Train Page 234 Nuages Page 238 Oh, Good Grief Page 241 Oleo Page 244 On Green Dolphin Street Page 247 Seven Come Eleven Page 252 Relaxin’ At The Camarillo Page 256 Robbin’s Nest Page 260 Shiny Stockings Page 264 Sippin’ At Bells Page 267 So What Page 270 Some Other Spring Page 273 Song For My Father Page 278 Stolen Moments Page 282 Things Ain’t What They Used To Be Page 285 Turnaround Page 288 Topsy Page 292 Tune Up Page 294 Un Poco Loco Page 299 West Coast Blues Page 302 Up Jumped Spring Page 306 Watermelon Man Page 310 What Am I Here For? • Classics
Well arranged. Some easily sight-read. Others need work. Appropriate challenge and fun for advanced-intermediate

  • Excellant Jazz piano solos and we'll worth the money.
Really good Jazz music. I enjoy playing this music on my piano. This sheet music has an excellant selection of songs. 80 classic Jazz pieces with 314 pages of sheet music. The arrangements are not too difficult to play. I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. It's for intermediate to advanced players. If you are in this category like I am then I would highly recommend purchasing this book. You won't be sorry. ... show more

  • Many lovely standards to enjoy
I am pleased with the variety of the Jazz greats represented in this collection. I wish it was easier to find a close approximation of the piece being performed on UTube Music as represented in the book.

  • Great compilation Jazz solos
Cleanly printed 380 examples of familiar and some unfamiliar Jazz piano solos. They are easily playable for most pianists. Should be great study for beginning Jazz students.

  • The book doesn't stay upright very well on the music holder on the piano.
This was a gift for a intermediate level student. I was so disappointed that the book doesn't fold flat. It's hard to keep it open on the music holder on the piano. Why don't these companies use a spiral notebook format? This is ridiculous. I need clamps to keep it open on the piano. Not user friendly. I'm not qualified to evaluate the contents. I hope the student finds it's good enuf to make up for the nuisance of holding the book open. ... show more

  • One of the best
Excellent value. Really nice arrangements of well known but not often transcribed for piano solo. Just challenging enough. One of my favorite books (and I have a lot!).
