    • Good if you want to play melodies - bad for true solos
I bought this thinking it would help me play the piano the way Joel does - at least the same notes. But instead these are arrangements for the piano to play the notes that are sung during the song, not the notes that are played. These are designed to replace vocals, when really what I want is the piano accompaniment, especially for some of the riffs on songs like "River of Dreams." The Billy Joel Keyboard book is really what I wanted (which I also have), so if you're like me and want to know what Billy is playing note-for-note, stick to that book and that book only. Nevertheless, if you just want to play some nice-sounding Billy Joel melodies, then there's nothing wrong with the book. ... show more
