  • Perfect for campers who want to stay away from the RV sites.
If you hate RV sites, this book is for you.

  • Basic guide book
It's a good guide, lets you know how many RV's you may have to deal with. Some of the spots listed I wouldn't consider the best, but there are many more waiting for me to try.

  • Our favorite camping guide
We have used the Northern California Tent Camping Guide for years. Even though we have older editions and the prices and availability have changed the reviews still hold up. Never been disappointed with the places we stayed based on these guides

  • Not So Much a Guide
The campgrounds featured in this book are top notch and I applaud the author for choosing them. However, I don't like the way you have to read the author's little narrative story to extract all the info about each campground. I would prefer to see a list of activities for each campground and near by alternatives in case you can't get a reservation. I recommend that you supplement this book with a Moon Camping Guide so you get more specific info. Other than that it's a great book to have on hand if you're a camper. ... show more

  • Great informative book
I purchased this book in preparation for multiple camping trips throughout Southern CA, and it's proven to be very beneficial. We've found some great places to camp at that have great views and amenities, and I'm highly considering purchasing the Northern CA and AZ books.

  • one of the better in this series
I appreciate the more personal notes in the descriptions and discussion of surrounding areas. I have sometimes found other books in this series focus almost to a fault - the specifics of the campground with the exclusion of the surrounding environment which often plays into why I'm interested in staying at the campground anyway. ... show more
