Working with standard model kits and 3D printing, both resin and FDM, I've been trying to find a solid solution for airbrush paints for some time now. I have tried nearly every big-name brand out there, and even some lesser known, to find some consistency. The "V" brand is hit or miss, usually causing splattering and clogging of even the largest needles in my airbrushes; even thinned out, only the Badge would handle this brand solidly, and even then...it would struggle. Army Painter had this set go on sale for Black Friday and I decided to pull the trigger. And I should have done this a LOT earlier. From the start, every single dropper worked flawlessly in every brush I have...the Iwata...the Badger...the H&S...even my low-priced Nedeco models. NONE of them struggled with these at all. Without thinning, they worked. They simply worked. Now, when I move to the metal colors, I DO add a touch of thinner/medium just to ensure even coverage...and because of my issues with the "V" paints previously. But even without...they spray beautifully. These are, without a doubt, the easiest and smoothest paints I have worked with and I can't be happier. I've gone to buy additional bottles for those colors I use a lot of, as well as their brushes and "game" paints for traditional brushing (even though the Air Paints work pretty well with traditional brushing). AWESOME paints and I am now pretty much just burning through the other brands I have or outright giving them away just to free space for more of these. Thank you Army Painter! ... show more

Worth the money for mini painting
I've been learning how to use an airbrush over the past year. I do have some airbrush paints, but they're some weird, cheap brand. They work OK, but I wanted to see how "real" paints worked. Well, they're great. The coverage is nice and smooth, and the colors are vibrant. Very worth the price IMO.

I just received the Complete Air Brush Set the other day and used it for the first time today. Let me preface this review by saying that I do NOT work with minatures. Most of my models are dinosaurs and prehistoric animals usually 12 - 24 inches sin length that I have printed on my 3D printer. PRO 1. The choice of colors is awesome 2. I just love the triad sets as it makes shading extremely easy - the number of triads is great 3. The paints themselves are easy to apply and the colors are bright 4. The pamphlet that came with the set was nice and informative 5. Paints allowed easy cleanup of your airbrush CON 1. The set is a bit pricey but if you're looking for choices this is the set 2. The packaging that the paints came in was awful. All 128 paints came in a box which had plastic containers with the dropper bottles in them. The bottle were all over the place. Most other sets I have purchased have some kind of case where the paints can't move around 3. Two of the first dropper bottles I used were clogged after shaking them. I had to use a tool to unclog them. They could use better dropper bottles All in all I would definitely recommend this set to anyone wanting to paint their models and have concerns about shading and color matching. The best AIR paint money can buy
I really love the army painter paints;. They never let me down. they also don't rob me for my hard earned money. I did alot of research before I bought this air set. I priced out every AIR paint system on the planet. even non miniature paint. and the price to paint can't be beat. Also I really love the color triad system, It's not something I thought I'd use, but I find my self picking triads to airbrush. bleding the 3 colors together really helps with my highlighting. I've even used some of the paint with a brush to do edge highlighting. Also the fact the bottles contain the bearings to help mix. Not taking on the extra cost of buying 200+ ball bearings was a nice savings. It's thinned right, but still you can thin it a bit more. It's not like war paints where literally i gotta do a 1:1 mix with water or thinner, more like 4:1 paint to thinner. ... show more

Some packaging issues
The product was as described and had all the paints. But the package was cracked and one of the paints was open slightly. Only slightly, but some paint was still lost as a result. Though these might be the reason this was sold a little cheaper than it could be bought from another listing, perhaps they were sold at a discount cause of these packaging issues? But is still worth noting ... show more
