  • This shower is awesome!
We bought this camp shower 9 months ago. It is awesome. We use it on the site we are building a house on out in the country. We have stayed in a small rv with no shower on our land. We have used it hundreds of times. It has lasted through high wind and yes through hurricane Bill. It was left up for a few days when we went home not knowing a hurricane was coming. It did not hit us directly but we had storms of rain and wind. It picked it up and threw it about 50 yards into the woods. When we got there it looked like everything was ruined. Two canopies were twisted and a mess. We spotted the shower in the trees and brush and got it out and wow... it was fine. one small tear on the fabric which we covered with duct tape and it works great still. We now leave it up all the time and have it tied toa tree. I cannot recommend this enough. I would give it higher if possible. We use it with the Camp chef triton propane water heater...OMG it is as good as home shower with the two together. ... show more

  • Good First Impression
The Texsport "instant" portable outdoor shower out of the box looks like a good quality, well designed product. It's not instant however! Even so putting it together is not difficult for two people (because of the size only). The pole sections are strung together with strong wire, not elastic cords. On the negative side, this makes them very tight when trying to pull the clip from the salt of the next pole. We resorted to not engaging the clip in the slot. There doesn't seem to be any loss of integrity doing this. The structure is stirdy regardlesss. There are numbered stickers but the length of the poles alone will indicate which poles are for what, so not a big deal if the stickers are lost. The directions to out the tent together are sewn into the tent bag as well as an separate copy. The tent material is heavy enough to assure privacy though we have not checked this out for night time use. The shower bag is heavy duty, well made and the height of the tent apex is such that it would be difficult to hoist a full bag onto the strong hook, but once there, there would be no ducking to use the shower. The tent is spacious, windows open to outside. The towel racks are actually sturdy rods and not clothesline. The accessory bag looks good, not sure if it will hold up,to being loaded with soap, shampoo, shave cream etc. but only time will tell. All in all we are happy with the purchase. The size, quality and even the look are what we were hoping for. Update 2018- this tent has withstood heavy rain and wind, repeated use and exposure to blazing sun. It’s still 5 star quality...no repairs needed, one of the best camp equipment we have invested in. ... show more

  • Served it's purpose
The pic is from after a Florida storm. Granted, had this up as a fixed outdoor shower for about a year and a half, I did have higher hopes for the sturdiness of the poles. The rainfly was pretty much shredded after this storm so I just ripped it off, and about a month later, the rest of the fabris was shredded to literal pieces as well. It was super thin and cheap to start with so you get what you pay for. At this point, I've tossed all the fabris and I'm hoping I can re-use the frame with some standard tarps, but some of the clips in the frame aren't doing so hot to be honest, and again, the poles are a little on the flimsy side. As for some positives: this did make a fabulous outdoor shower for my camper while my inside one was out of commission. It was cold in the winter, but the shelter was decent enough to hold some steam so it wasn't freezing (so long as the rainfly was on of course.) Bugs love to get in here so be ready to share some very personal space with some flyers and many legged crawlers. The extra towel poles fell out in even the lightest storms so don't leave anything hanging that you aren't prepared to fall have in the dirt. If you want some ideas for a comfy floor, I leveled the sand, placed 2 pieces of old plywood down which I put some holes into and then put giant 2 foot iron stakes through those to better secure the tent to the wood which added some way better stability after the storm from the pic shown; next I placed a rubber stall mat thingy down (found it at rural king for like $20) and then for better foot comfort, I placed a little beach mat from Walmart on top of that. Also, I left the plywood pieces about an inch apart from each other so that some of the water that would build up could easily drain down the middle. All in all, this was a very spacious and comfy outdoor shower. I wish I had gotten a little more time out of it but it definitely served it purpose and I now have a regular inside shower working so I no longer need to share my showers with the bugs lol ... show more

  • Cheaply made...not worth the money.
I searched and searched for a shower shelter for a planned extended camping trip next Spring. I'm glad I started now since this one is being returned with much disappointment. Positives: - nice roomy interior - relatively easy setup Negatives: - incomplete instructions (2 of 3 pages were not included and were found on Texsport's web site) - flimsy poles do not appear sturdy enough for repeated use - cheap tent skin fabric construction - 1 of the 2 mesh windows installed incorrectly - poles too long, cannot secure ring/pins to pole bottoms (and yes, the tent is inside the poles and not draped over the poles) - as a result of the poles, there is a 3-4" space gap at the bottom of the shelter, not in contact with the ground as pictured - instructions show pictures of various stages during setup, but none of them show the shelter hooked by the center roof joint (it is drooping). Can this really be set up properly? I will now be looking at the more expensive Paha Que Tepee Shower. I'm willing to pay for a more quality item. This Texsport product at $79 is far from quality. UPDATE: I bought and received the Paha Que Tepee Shower. What a difference in construction! The poles are more similar to those on my large 6-person tent and the fabric does not feel like it will tear during the first use. You get what you pay for. The Paha Que is over $100 but I feel it will be useable more than 2 or 3 times, unlike this Texsport model. ... show more
