Let me start off by saying that I bought a pair of these 10 years ago and show the left one in the pictures (AND I'm still wearing that pair). I bought that pair for $20 at the end of summer on a closeout. I have been searching for another pair thinking the old ones can't last forever but they may prove me wrong. I spotted the others here and snatched them up but paid significantly more for them at $59.95. So, while I'm glad I have another pair there are some differences that really stand out and it is why I give these a 3 star vs. the 5 stars I would have given a pair like my old ones. 1. the straps are 1/8th in. smaller 2. the connecting triangles are 3/8th in. smaller 3. the old ones were about the same sole thickness as these new ones but did not have a hard top or bottom which allowed for my foot to sink down into the sole and mold to my foot. (obviously gravity and wear have taken there tole on the old ones.) 4. harder sole top and bottom allows your foot to slip on the top and gives less traction on surfaces. 5. the new soles are formed slightly different so while the length is perfect the little toe side (outside) curves in quicker on the new pair causing the straps to dig in a little more than the old ones to keep your foot aligned on the sole. 6. the connecting triangle for the webbing at the little toe sits closer to the sole than the old pair causing the edge of the triangular base to rest on the side of your toe instead of over the top. Just not as comfortable as the old pair right from the start. Bottom Line: The NEW ORIGINALS are not very ORIGINAL. Guess I'll have to start looking in Thrift stores. ... show more
