I've owned a Teva sandals since the early 90s. I still have my very first pair that I use to work around the house or in areas where I don't care how dirty the get. Quality has dipped a little, but they still fit me well and last a fairly long time. In my instance, the soles always wear out. Teva is my favorite sandals. I do like these and they feel comfortable. However, this is my second pair. My old ones were great but my new young dog chewed the strap. The original ones I had were the S/N 4156 green, but they don’t sell them anymore. Such a bummer because I feel like the new ones are almost pinching the bottom of my feet. My olds never did that with the inner tread. Hopefully time will tell wearing them in. I do wear a size 9.5 in tennis shoes so the 9 fits perfectly. I did see a post about the straps breaking. The problem is you don’t need to tighten so much that your feet and toes turn purple, they will break. They should be comfortable for your feet, not look as though they were in a choke hold. Had my old ones for about 6 years. I do wear these on small hikes and walks, not 5-10 mile hikes. I did spend around $75 for them. However, you get what you pay for too! ... show more

The Teva Hurricane XLT sandal was very comfortable right out of the box for me. Feet into sandal and strap the top strap. I wear a size 10 shoe but ordered size 9 and they fit perfect (see photo). My toes go right to the inside edge of the sandal. It feels very secure and offers a stable platform. I wore the sandals around the house for a couple of days and they felt good with no discomfort. Next, I went on a 1.5 mile outside walk and the sandals performed well. No blisters or rubbing. I will conduct a 5 mile walk next before they go in my bag for international travel. I've worn Tevas for many many years, This particular model was great for the first year. Then every time I wore them they would leave the bottoms of my feet black. I tried washing with soap but didn't change anything. I tossed them and ordered another model of Tevas.

The plastic triangle that holds the straps together bites into my foot. Also they don't fit as well. Seems like I can't adjust them quite to my liking. However they do seem quite durable.

After 20 years, my first pair of Teva's was ready to re-tire, literally. The sole started to delaminate. The upper and straps are still in good condition. So I chose to buy the same and am not disappointed. It looks to have a monolithic sole, so delamination should not be a problem with this shoe. I'll be back in 20 yrs and let you know my opinion on this pair. ... show more
