This is the 3rd pair of sneakers/hiking/commuting shoes I bought. This one is a keeper. Although it doesn’t have as much of a grip as a regular hiking boots does, it works well for a fairly even terrain. I would not use these shoes on a rocky trail. I purchased last minute for a trip to Iceland and was looking for something waterproof for rainy days, comfortable for lots of walking and more rugged for some potential trails on the trip. I didn’t have time to break them in and wore them an entire bus tour day that included a hike on a gravel trail. So comfortable and no sore feet. I did not slip on the gravel trail either and sturdy. I have searched for years for the just the right "in-between" boot and I finally found it in this Teva Boot. This is the boot you wear in the winter to go for a long, brisk dog walk in light snow or slush and/or below freezing temperatures. These boots are toasty warm and dry, fit a wider foot (when many other boots are just too narrow) and super lightweight. You can lace them up nice and tight so they feel wonderfully supportive. I find them very comfortable. I am typically between a 9.5-10 and I got a 10. This gives me a little extra room for a heavier sock when the temps really dip. These are great looking boots and the footbed is very comfortable and true to size. I bought them to walk/exercise 2-3 miles a day in winter weather. The ankle is very stiff and cuts into the back of my calf/ankle when in motion. This shoe is very sturdy and I felt there was going to be little give so I could't risk it, returned. ... show more
