It’s compact, functional, and allows for connecting multiple divices. In Italy most outlets only have one plug per location, so having something like this is more critical than you’d think. The led indicator is helpful too so you know when it is on (we encountered switched outlets much more than in the US) just note that this thing doesn’t have a ground plug (in Europe those are located in the center of the other two) , so just know that the third ground prong for the US side of the block is for show only. However, not all outlets even had a ground prong anyways. Still great for charging multiple phone or tablet sized devices if you are traveling in a group. ... show more

This is perfect for travel because it has so many features without a long cord. I do carry a 15 ft cord with me. With this charging anything is easy. So many motels and hotels these days do not make it easy to charge things, unless it is an upscale hotel. I have something similar to this with a 15ft cord, but it is too bulky to take on trips.
