KVM switches are like many other tech accessories--there's no such thing as 'one size fits all'. TESmart might not be a 'household name' but the company has a solid reputation among those 'in the know'. That's not surprising--they started as a company focused on an enterprise level engineering clientele. They later began making consumer focused product with their debut release being a KVM switch. They've diversified their product line somewhat but it's not inaccurate to call them 'KVM specialists'. This particular switch might not be something that a basic household user would need but it's invaluable for any serious remote/hybrid worker. I'm a business owner and spend 75% plus of my time traveling and working remotely. When I'm in the office, I have a desktop setup but it's also helpful to be able to access my laptop. With this KVM switch it's extremely simple. I can control both my laptop and desktop with the same peripherals and using the same monitor setup. Screen resolution is very good and everything I need for my use case. Switching from one source device to another is seamless with no latency or desktop rearrangement. Seriously, a must have device for any remote worker. Highly recommended!
