My doctor prescribed 20-30 compression stockings that are at least thigh high. Until I discovered these legging-style stockings, I'd been wearing both open- and closed-toed stockings. That was fine in the winter, but now that the weather is warmer and I want to wear sandals, I'm thrilled to have discovered these Terramed ankle-length leggings. The panty part of the leggings is more opaque, so I can only wear them alone if I pair them with a tunic top mid thigh or longer. Otherwise, I wear the leggings under long jeans, slacks, thicker leggings, or wide-leg pants. Important: Take measurements to make sure you get the right size. I measure Small/Long in one brand, Medium in another, and XL in these. The Terramed leggings are comfortable. If you put them on correctly, they won't sag in the crotch or bunch up behind the knees. But if you don't follow the instructions, you may not be happy with the fit. Of all the compression hose I own, these are my favorite. I've been wearing them for over a month (rotating between my others so I can wash two and wear one). So far, they haven't snagged. Comfort-wise, they're great! They're not ridiculously hard to put on or take off, but they're snug like compression hose SHOULD be. I don't even remember I'm wearing them most of the time! Highly recommended. ... show more

    • Very uncomfortable material, too long

I tried these on as soon as I received them. Firstly I’m a big girl so it is a bit difficult to put any tight “stockings” on. I also have severe back issues, I can’t bend as I used to, and had 7 foot surgeries with hardware; so I can’t have compression anything on my foot, hence the footless leggings, These are thick as any compression stocking would/should be, but because they’re leggings, you have twice the work to get them all the way up. It was challenging to get them smooth behind my knees and up the thighs, which I understand that’s also a “gimme” but I managed. Once I got them where they needed to be and smoothed out, I still had too much length left by my ankles, so that they’d wrap under my heel (no, they were pulled up correctly , I’m just short legged but a larger size-ordered an XXL). Leggings are of a very thick material (not a very soft microfiber for sure) which has the feel of “nylon hosiery” stocking but much thicker. They stretch well enough to put on with just enough tension so it’s not extremely hard (it’s supposed to be difficult to put compression stockings on, or there wouldn’t be any compression afterwards, you’r you’d just be wearing leggings). They are not sheer, so that’s good coverage, and your fingers won’t risk yo go through it and put a hole in them. All these are a plus. It feels okay on lower part of legs but on upper inner thighs, they are extremely itchy and make swooshing sound when you walk (if you’re a larger size girl with big thighs, you know exactly how that feels). Now, I could get past all that, except I would need to walk in public making the swooshing sound, and that’s very uncomfortable. Also, once you pull them down, it’s a pain to get them off your feet. I can only imagine if I needed to go to the bathroom at work or in public places: it’ll take “an act of God” to get them back as they were. These are going back. I was hoping they’re be less uncomfortable and definitely shorter, more like a capri, so that’s what I’ll be looking for in place of these I imagine if you’re not getting the largest size due to your own size, smaller ones may be less uncomfortable. These aren’t a keeper for me, though, as far as the compression 20-30 part is probably spot on. PS: no the smaller size would’ve not been shorter, just tighter to put on, more likely never making it past my knees. ... show more

These leggings are so much more comfortable than compressions stockings. The compression stockings became painful especially behind my knees. These were recommended by my doctor and they are very comfortable and still have the 20-30 compression. I highly recommend them.

These fit exactly like they're supposed to, tight, but not constricting. You get used to it after a day or so. You'll find your legs feeling better. The confinement actually helps if you have movement issues due to soreness. You can get up faster, with less pain. They are difficult to put on, until you're used to doing it. Be certain you have no gathering fabric anywhere accept the body, or you'll feel like you're wearing a tourniquet, which will have the opposite effect of their purpose. Measure yourself exactly as the fitting scale says. If your measurements are in-between sizes, GO UP, not down. Again, give yourself time to adjust, and you'll be happy with your purchase. ... show more
