The Tenba DNA 16 Pro Messenger Bag is a great messenger bag for carrying a large rangefinder kit or a medium size DSLR kit. Messenger bags are much easier to work out of than camera backpacks. I have a couple of smaller camera messenger bags and wanted this XL size bag for carrying everything at once. The DNA 16 Pro Messenger lets me do that. This bag is well thought out and well designed. It is made with high quality materials and offers good protection for costly cameras and lenses without using overly thick padding. The way the top flap of the bag is designed will keep out all but the most torrential of downpours. There is a raincover included for the worst of rain storms. The DNA 16 Pro Messenger would be a good messenger bag for travel - but not a "great" bag for travel. That is where the camera backpack wins. That said, the 16 Pro Messenger would still do reasonably well for a travel bag. This is an outstanding bag that is well worth its $200 USD price tag. Tenba is a great bag for smaller mirrorless cameras and small lens. I like the design with the exception of the fact that they have two snaps at the bottom which even though they say are easy to do one snap would be more beneficial especially since it’s backed up by Velcro

    • Huge Step Down From DNA 15
Size: 16 Slim Messenger Color: Blue
I got the DNA 15 Slim Limited Edition a couple years back and have used it daily (and still love it!). I wanted a second bag as a backup and to use as a diaper bag for when we're out with the kids. The DNA 16 Slim has most of the same core features as the DNA 15 Slim like the magenetic clasp and the quiet velcro, however, they removed a LOT from the new version of the bag: - Shoulder strap not removable. - Shoulder strap does not have pivoting hinge - Interior tablet pocket is not as large (even though this bag is larger overall than the DNA 15) - No flip out interior pocket for cables and other nicknacks. - No pockets on the outside of the flap - Exterior pockets inside the flap have been reduced and placed behind a zipper making them less accessible. Also, the extra height/depth of the new bag means things feel "lost" in the bag more. For example, my laptop would now sit a good 1.5" below the top of the partition whereas in the DNA 15 it was perfectly flush with the top. All in all, I'm deeply disappointed in everything they've removed while at the same time increasing the price from what I paid on the special edition version 2 years ago. ... show more

Well thought out bag for convenience of use. Fits a Canon EOS R5 with RF 28-70mm f2 mounted -- and still has space for an RF f2.8 15-35mm, an RF 70-200mm f2.8 (including mounting ring and ARCA footing), and also an RF 100mm f2.8 macro (albeit snugly with the added 100mm lens) -- plus assorted items like extra batteries and charger, filters, etc. Sound waterproofing especially at the base of the bag (with extra protection from a slip-on rain cover). The top entry zipper is a handy feature, too. Nice broad shoulder strap, which helps with the heavy load just described. Let's face it: No bag has everything you might think you want (or later come to want -- e.g., a means to attach a folded-up tripod, which the Tenba does not feature). But this Tenba is pretty damn good. Think of the number of promising bags you've bought over the years, only to give them away or sell them for a loss. This Tenba bag is, I'd say, a keeper. (And who can resist the amusing Sumo wrestler ads?) ... show more

This bag is well made and very durable. I love the messenger bag style and the quick access front zip is so convenient for gear access when on the go. The price is also very reasonable. I bought this with a Tenba BYOB to compare and liked this one for everyday use better, BUT I frequently have to nest my gear in a backpack with other items for air travel so I returned this one. If you don’t need it for travel, or you don’t travel carryon only, this is the bag to choose. ... show more

I am not sure where the reviews are for tenba but I just received my bag and it was a bit smaller than I expected (not a bad thing for me at all). The bag seems very high quality and has all the features that were listed. This is my first camera bag and I am looking forward to putting it into action, will upload pics and an updated review once I do. 4/5 for now based on my first impressions, still trying to determine for sure if this bag is for me. ... show more
