The wallet generally met expectations for my iPhone 13 mini. I had a similar from Tech21 for my iPhone 6. The newer model isn’t as nice as the previous however. I would like to see an option that includes a ‘clear’ cover on the front and no credit card slots.

Provides complete protection for Iphone 13. However it comes only in basic black. These initial comments still obtain. However, I have noticed a major design flaw that can be more than a little annoying: the volume control buttons are on one side of the iphone located near the middle where one normall would grasp the iphone. Since one normally grasps the iphone lengthwise with one’s palm squeezing against the volume buttons, they are easily activated, especially the Down volume button. Thus, it is almost impossible not to press the overly soft pliable spline of the Tech case, thereby inadvertently turning down/off the volume.     • The interior of this Tech21 wallet is not Flexshock, the whole thing is thin, hard plastic.

In videos of their prior wallet, the internals are clearly Flexshock and are marked Flexshock. This wallet is all hard plastic, and there is no Flexshock branding nor ribbing in the interior. Not good enough. I worship that gummy Flexshock material and the bendy bones, it has earned my trust, and so I bought an Evo Check. Too bad, I wanted that wallet format, and I'm peeved that I had to buy this case just to find out Tech21 has made a cheap and stupid choice with this iteration. ... show more

My last iPhone was the SE 2020 (the ultimate pandemic phone btw) and I had the Tech21 Evo Wallet as my case. That case was my favourite so I naturally wanted to have the same experience with my new iPhone 13 (not so great as a pandemic phone). I love how the new case feels. The wallet part is a little weird to be, as the one on the iPhone SE version, which had a fold out flap card that has two card pockets inside, which pretty much hides both cards until you open the flap. But it does still fit two cards, you just might have to shuffle through both cards, and basically advertises the card from the back while you use your phone (a little uneasy for the security conscious). But overall, the case feels sturdy, fits snug with the iPhone 13, snaps into place to cover the screen part of the phone when not in use, and just has an overall premium feel to it. It does make the a little heavy when you hold it up, so just be aware of that. Having said that, when I had to take it out to switch to a lightweight case--just for when I know I'll be home and not be wanting to feel some carpal tunnel lol--it became problematic. It fits so snug in there that it's not too snug, such that it made it way too difficult to take out. While taking it out of the case, it really felt like I was going to break my phone! I'm not exaggerating, it took me about 5 minutes to get the edges to finally all snap off and free my iPhone from the case. It was easier to snap one edge off, but getting two edges off feels impossible. And because the case is so sturdy, you'll feel like you're forcing a lot of physical pressure in your iPhone. So now I'm not so sure if I want to keep using the case. It'll basically make it permanently in there, which is good because you'll know it'll be secure within drops, but also bad because I'll have to clean my phone at some point or switch it out when the flap feels too cumbersome. So just be aware of that! --- UPDATE 2022-02-27 --- So I revisited the case and have been using it for two weeks now. I take everything back and I'm changing my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars. I think I was just too quick to judge that last time, but I can admit to making mistakes. So, okay, second time I put it on my iPhone 13 was just like two weeks ago. I kept the case just sitting on my desk, and my other cases were getting kind of dirty and gross-looking (clear Caseology one was so smudgy with dirt and the clear was making that worse, the Spigen one had been great but got kind of dirty on the side and the wallet part all gathering dirt at the hinges, plus--irrelevant but--I caught COVID while using it at SoFi stadium, thanks also to "FaceID" lol, ugh got so sick but I had three doses of the Pfizer vaccine so I am alive). Anyway lol, so after finally testing negative I thought hey, maybe I should try this wallet case again. To my surprise, it still fits tight, but not too tight! It was a lot easier to take it or off the case the second time around, and I guess you kind of just stretch it out as you take off the phone. And my iPhone has been fine all this time. And I gotta tell you, I appreciate the wallet flap a whole lot more now! It feels secure when I'm my pocket or on a desk, both privacy-wise and also physical damage-wise. It covers the FaceID cameras while closed, so you don't get that annoying "DING DING" x5 aka UH-OH YOU'RE BLOCKED FROM YOUR PHONE BECAUSE YOU WEREN'T DIRECTLY LOOKING AT IT NOW ENTER YOUR 32 CHARACTER PASSWORD (mandatory for work BYOD, so horrible) just because you may have tapped it or picked it up lol--seriously whoever decided to get rid of TouchID should be fired from Apple. (just ranting lol) but this flip case solves that! It's covered! And about the wallet part, at first I was like how can I possibly put in two cards in there without it looking messy. But No! My cards are really secure in there! Which I know also because I have already dropped this phone in this case several times lol. And what I really like too is how well the locking part sticks, and there's like a "feel" to unlocking it. So it's like if someone takes it from me and tries to like quickly put it in front of my face then run off with my phone into the sunset (or really more accurately just a mistrusting significant other lol), they won't even know how to open the case! lol 😂 Which then brings me to the durability part. This case is A BEAST. 👍 💪 It still looks like gore I took it out of the box the first time! With the Spigen one, when I dropped my phone... just in my house 🤦🏽♂️ (Also btw COVID-related... muscle weakness + heavy ass phone 📱), the tempered glass got cracked. Replaced the tempered glass and put the case on, and despite having been dropped several times while out and about (with the long COVID effects duh), the screen protector still hasn't cracked! The feel... well it's heavy and I'm still getting used to it. But the phone was sheet heavy anyway! So I think I can live with it, knowing my phone is safe, my facetime camera isn't locking me out of my phone and controlling my basic attention basically, my backup credit and debit cards remain in place whenever I absolutely need them (it does happen), the volume and apple pay/(whatever tf it is, it's not a home button) buttons on the sides are much easier to press and more responsive somehow, and the case just has this overall premium feel to it. Actually it feels military grade tough, despite being a sort of "fashion statement" basically. Lol but also, did I mention it looks hella legit? So yeah, it eventually does mould into the phone as and loosens it just right as you take it out and put it back in, but not too much that it'd make it easy to fall off when you drop it, but when you actually do want/need to take it out. It's got that quality and all the good things that come with the Tech21 brand. And I now do honestly believe that this is in fact an improvement over my old iPhone SE Tech21 wallet case not. So I think it's worth changing that score to 5 stars. (And you probably don't care, but in case you're curious and actually read all that ⬆️ , I'm both a 49ers and a Chargers fan. As in the two teams that actually stayed in California and didn't betray us. Aka, not a Rams fan. It'll take more than a decade for us to trust the Rams again, not just one like super bowl win. And yes, I was in that last regular season niners at rams game (the niners won) when the true need for TouchID really got tested and proven.) ... show more
