    • BE CAREFUL OF CLAMPS BUT VERY GOOD PRODUCT
Using for a inline fan and works very well, only downside is you need to be careful using the hose clamps. Unfortunately I sliced my hand open with one of them as they are very sharp, being said if you ae not careful around the hose you will also rip the hose. This worked great for venting my basement kitchen stove to the outside. it is thick enough to not rip when I pulled it through the hole cut in the side of the house which had some rough edges. It is double lined which makes it very durable.

So long story long I bought an in-line duct fan and it came with a duct, but it’s so cheap I needed something else~ which brings me to this item which is definitely layered and a lot quieter and I just wanna say I like the fact that they tape the ends so it won’t tear as you’re trying to install it.

    • Fire Hazard? Foil vs Semi-rigid
Purchased this item to replace the original aluminum semi-rigid duct installed with my Speed Queen electric dryer that was damaged and leaking dryer exhaust. I knew as soon as I stretched this new replacement out that I had made a mistake. It is manufactured with very thin aluminum FOIL and wrapped with black plastic similar or the same as used in trash bags. Immediately, I felt concerned about this being a fire hazard. I attached it and let the dryer run to at least test it. Within 10 minutes I had to stop the dryer and remove the duct because of the amount of heat radiating from it. This duct had become extremely hot to the point you could not touch it without hand protection. This occurred with the dryer still standing out from the wall and this duct running straight unobstructed for three feet to the wall vent. In any case, I discarded this duct and purchased a semi-rigid replacement which is working fine without excessive heat buildup or any safety concerns.
