Good Phone With a Great Display
Color: Stellar Blue Size: 256GB
I’ve been using the TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro as my everyday phone, and overall I’m pretty happy with it. The biggest reason I chose it was the 6.9" NXTPAPER display, and it definitely stands out. The screen looks sharp and smooth at 120Hz, and the matte-style finish is much easier on my eyes than a typical glossy phone, especially when reading or browsing for longer periods. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage are also a nice combination. Apps open quickly, multitasking is generally smooth, and having 256GB gives me plenty of room for photos, videos, and apps without constantly worrying about storage. I also like that it’s an unlocked Android phone, so I have more flexibility with my carrier. The phone feels fairly slim and modern for its size, although the large 6.9" screen does make it a little big if you prefer compact phones. The cameras are decent for everyday pictures, but I wouldn’t buy this specifically as a camera phone. Battery life has been good for my normal daily use, although your results will obviously depend on how heavily you use the phone. ... show more

Great eye friendly phone
Color: Stellar Blue Size: 128GB
The Nxtpaper 70 Pro is a great phone if you place a premium on eye care features. I’m very PWM sensitive and have no issues with this phone. Performance (non-gaming) is fairly snappy. The camera is pretty good vs other similar priced phones. One knock against this phone is the brightness level outdoors, and you do need to crank it up a bit, but I haven’t found that to be a big deal and there are no issues with brightness indoors. Battery is fine although Android Auto, which is a drain on most devices, hits this one particularly hard. It works great on Verizon with a sim card that was activated in another device. If you plan on activating with Verizon via eSIM, I’d be prepared for a bumpy ride at least for now. Of note: Wifi and Bluetooth work great but have a slightly shorter range than most other devices. TCL has some aggressive battery/app management so if this causes issues for you, I’d search around online for fixes as they do help significantly. There are not any very good cases available, the best you’ll be able to do is find a passable one. Although calls are fine, if you stream music through your phone’s speakers the results are mediocre at best. TCL’s customer service is horrible so if you think you’ll need to reach out to them at some point in the future, I’d look elsewhere. I’m giving five stars as I place a high premium on a flicker free experience. If you do too, it’s hard to find a better phone for the price. ... show more

A very good phone.
Color: Stellar Blue Size: 128GB
I bought this phone 3 weeks ago. It's far better than my Samsung. It's unlocked with Android 16 for any carrier. The apps function perfectly, and buttons and links open instantly without error. It did come with some bloatware, but I uninstalled what I didn't want. I shut down some apps I didn't want running on it as well. I don't play games on it but I do surveys, and the phone already paid for itself. The NXTPAPER switch on the side comes in handy, for when I'm using the phone in the dark. It's very user friendly with the eyes that way . This is probably the best phone I ever will have, and I bought a case for it, as I didn't care for the case that came with it. ... show more

Can TCL convert Samsung Users?
Color: Nebula Gold Size: 256GB
I'm going to be hypercritical with this review. Yes... Coming from a Samsung feels like a downgrade, or is the playing field level with TCL products? As a preface, I've owned this phone for several weeks now. The more I use it, the more I realize it's more of a Kindle slash reading device more than an actual communication tool. I wouldn't consider this a selling point, but ultimately if you read pdf files on a regular basis, this is your next phone. Let's talk about the cool battery saving function that transforms the UI into a black & white canvas. Pressing the middle button on the right side of the phone activates the ink feature that basically puts your entire phone into black & white energy retention mode, which supposedly is also best for your eyesight if you do a ton of reading. Add the stylus for the NXTPAPER 70, I'm sure you'll have a field day notating important numbers and schedule changes like you're Sherlock Holmes. From a visual standpoint... At first glance, the phone is big, as it is wide... Which gets points from us people with bigger hands, and the INCLUDED clear hard case earns a big ⭐ as well. The biggest standout feature about the NXTPAPER 70 is the matte finish screen. I love how 🫆 fingerprints and smears are completely non-existent with this phone, and it does really set the bar high for other manufacturers to follow suit. Overall user experience has been par for course. The latest Android and AI features are pre-installed. Apps are quick and responsive, as they should be. I've deducted 1 star ⭐ for the quirky app management that doesn't seem to understand when the user wants to close out an app. I've also deducted another star for the left swipe sub-menu that seems to always get confused when you're handling an important task like ordering, or something menial like adding to a cart. If you swipe left mistakenly, or happen to swipe at a downward left angle, your actions are deleted and you're taken completely by surprise and closed out of your app. This is very frustrating, but it's not a deal breaker, hopefully it gets addressed in an update. Someone mentioned the sound quality isn't that great with the NXTPAPER 70 in a previous review... The sound is actually concise, loud, and clear, easily a B in terms of clarity. The camera takes photos, it doesn't have any fancy backings from the big names. Photos are crisp & clear that offer mid-tier resolution. Overall the phone gets a C+. I'm a bare minimalist phone user and the phone suits me well, and it even has an input for my planar IEM's which I'm thankful still exist in a crowded world full of Bluetooth connectivity. Recommend this to your friend who loves to read content. Other than that... The NXTPAPER 70 is your slightly above average mobile node. ... show more

TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro... Terrible phone. Very hard to navigate and gets stuck between screens. Battery life is not good. Freezes a lot. The sound is not great. Don't buy this phone.

You're gonna LOVE this screen!
Color: Stellar Blue Size: 128GB
Out of the box, it has good weight, does not feel cheap, and the screen is the best thing I have ever seen.I have not been able to see my phone in the sun in years, but this new "paper" screen is the BOSS! I have not connected it to my current provider yet, but I feel like it will be easy to use and I will transition to it quickly (I'm not big on change with electronics because I don't understand them). I found a wallet-style case for it, with a crossbody strap so I can easily carry it securely and not have to drag a big purse around. It's a stylish mid-range phone, and just enough for me to be impressive but not overwhelmed by the technology. I'm up there in years and hard to learn new tricks. ... show more

Interesting
Color: Stellar Blue Size: 128GB
Not a flagship/flagship killer. Got mine unlocked for $259.99(128gb)Overall a solid decent phone that ultimately punches above it's weight. If you're into a large screen(6.9) the latest Android(16) great battery life , handy AI, and a decent camera setup, you can't go wrong. The phone also supports 33 watt fast charging, which is a nice option. The only "negative" imo is the stereo speakers and that's nitpicking. They seem to lack the "punch" I've had with multiple phones in the past. ... show more

Amazing Phone
Color: Stellar Blue Size: 512GB
Upgraded to this phone from an older Samsung phone. Love the operating system a lot more. It has been a great phone so far. Very Pleased. Originally purchased it because it is one of very few phones that accepts an SD card. I have a huge music library on an SD card. Also really like the mat screen. It is also easy to customize and clean up unwanted apps. All in all, love the phone! ... show more
